Returning from a Gîte in the Dordogne, we couldn’t pass the chance to spend a couple of nights visiting Normandy beaches on the 72nd anniversary of the D-Day Landings. We chose this B&B (Chambre De Hôte) because it scored an incredible 9.9 on Booking.com. We were certainly not disappointed, as it proved to be an exceptional experience at a relatively...

From Jeanine, the hostess, to every little detail, it was our favorite experience in Normandy. Jeanine is warm, charming and most helpful with everything. The breakfasts were served with elegance and were delicious with homemade jams. The antiques and Jeanine's eye for decorating filled the lovingly restored old chateau. We were all sad to leave after spending 3 days there....

The effusive Madame Jeanine Poulain greeted us like friends and treated us like royalty. Her husband and she own and maintain this elegant and charming old French chateau, and offer their two guest rooms in one of the most magnificent and affordable B&Bs in all of Normandy, if not France. The breakfasts were superb, including homemade jams and preserves from...

We expected a simple breakfast but were shocked when our hostess prepared a breakfast fit for royalty, laid out perfectly. A great way to start our next day...

What a wonderful warm, friendly and helpful host Jeanine was. Fabulous breakfasts, (great home made jam) and looked after my gluten free diet. Probably the best bed we have ever slept in! I meant to ask her about it! Just a few minutes easy drive from Bayeaux. Beautiful garden to roam in. Brilliant. Very happy to recommend to fellow travellers.

This B & B was in a beautiful pastoral setting with gorgeous grounds, horses in the pasture and a beautiful home with two guest rooms. We were the only guests and the Poutains treated us like royalty. The rooms were huge, clean, and comfortable and the bathrooms were very updated with plenty of space and comforts. The décor was elegant...

“This charming French country home only has two rooms for guests and both are beautiful with spacious bedrooms. Our room had a bedroom with a fireplace (not working), perfect taste in decorating, fine bed linens, and a modern bathroom. The room overlooked a pasture where you could view a cow grazing in the morning. In April, we would wake up to a fresh breeze and birds singing. Adjoining the bedrooms was a good sized sitting room with a table and chairs and a day bed plus plenty of closets. This room overlooked a tiny church. The room also had a television and good lamps for reading in bed or in a chair.”
