We had a very disappointing meal here. Grit in the lettuce, fruit flies around the 'entree' which was apple and potato vegetarian. The Apple had obviously been cooked long ago, duck which tasted like it had been pre cooked or even come prepackaged, chips ( why always chips??) which were just horrible. Suspect fish. It was billed as 'catch of... More

Called in on off-chance of a room for the night. Very friendly reception and all the staff were keen to assist us in any way they could. The room was comfortable and over-looking their swimming pool. The dinner was superb.

We spent a few days in this small town in October and found nowhere to eat but this hotel (it must have been just before it closed!!) It was empty so no problem getting a table, the waiter was friendly , the house wine was really nice and the food was fantastic. We had to eat here as nowhere else... More

We have been staying at this hotel from time to time for the past 30 years and have always enjoyed our stay so it was the obvious place to head for when we popped across the channel for a couple of days. We have stayed in the main hotel, in the annexe across the road and in the annexe by... More

Have eaten here a couple of times now and always been impressed by the level of service, friendliness and the fact that I can get something vegetarian to eat. The decor is classic, lots of wood and cotton tablecloths , and has a nice old-fashioned feel to the place. Despite the restaurant normally being reasonably busy, we've always managed to... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal here in the summer with friends and family that were visiting us in St-Jean-le-Thomas, where we have a holiday-home. The service was very traditional and the biggest bonus was the use of the pristine swimming pool!

We drove up the coastline near Mont St. Michel looking for accommodation at other hotels and after looking at a few horrible shoe-box rooms, we were very lucky to discover this charming hotel. The prices were very reasonable, our rooms were large, clean and very comfortable (yes - the decor is dated but that is part of the charm). The... More

My husband and I took a two day break in St Jean le Thomas and despite some reviews we booked into Hotel des Bains and were pleased to be shown to a good sized room which was clean and had a patio window leading to a small balcony. As part of our honeymoon, my wife and I did a walking tour of Normandy and Brittany along Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. We walked from town to town, staying in a different hotel each night. This hotel was seriously lacking. The rooms were probably last updated in the '70s, which in and of itself was not bad — there's a certain run-down... More

This is just not the sort of hotel you'll want to spend any time in. It has obviously lacked any investment since the 1960's. Rooms are very basic. Our room was not clean. The windows wouldn't open and there was black mould growing on the walls. The restaurant menu was uninspiring, food mediocre and service poor. Such a shame as... More
