The first thing that strikes you when you reach the hotel after the long journey there is the beautiful beach and ocean view framed by jungle that greets you. The location is about a 20-30 minute drive from the Uehara ferry port and is very quiet and peacful. It's quite close to the Maryudu and Kanpire Waterfall tours which are... More

Stayed overnight here and found this hotel to be fantastic. Rooms were clean and our room faced the ocean with incredible views. We loved the restaurant and sat at the counter and enjoyed the first class view of the beach and ocean while eating and interacting with staff and owner. The staff were very friendly and the service was top... More

The Blue Moon hotel is a really nice, peacefull place to stay on Iriomote Island. Rooms are simple but spacious and very clean and neat. The staff is happy, friendly and although their English is not perfect they are all learning and very willing to help. GREAT food in the hotel available for good price. The restaurant area in the... I would absolutely go back here. If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable place way out there this is it! I stayed in the winter so I did not swim but walks along the beach and excursions to the waterfalls and jungle were easy. I did not have a car but utilized the bus AND was given rides twice... More

The hotel itself is very basic but the owner is just great. And for me, the most important thing, its very clean! The owner will help you with everything! Ferry, renting a car, tour, really he is great help. He speaks englisch, but most of the locals dont. We stayed there only 2 nights, but we would love to stay... More

We have only stayed for two nights but had an amazing time. Location of this hotel is just superb. Room was very basic and simple and decoration of hotel lobby and restaurant it's somehow very relaxed, chilled maybe a little messy but the most rewarding thing was surely the kindness and friendliness of two guys who happened to have everything... We spent a long weekend exploring Iriomote and had a fine base of operations for 3 nights: the Seaside Royal Blue Moon Hotel on the northwest shore of the island. The owner, Kazu Nakao, is friendly, helpful and invested in your his hotel's success and your happy visit . The hotel is easy to reach from the Uehara Port on... More

Fantastic hotel, location and staff for the price. Owner speaks English and all staff are really helpful. It is indeed quite remote but it's easy to get to from Uehara port and there is a shop and a restaurant in the village. The hotel chef was also excellent. I'd definitely stay here again next time.

Visited Irimote for 4 days and stayed at this small, quiet and relaxing hotel with my girlfriend. This is a place to remember. Spent the days alone at the beach, snorkeling on a private trip the manager recommended and visited the famous river and waterfall - all within a very short distance The manager is also a great chef serving... We stayed at the Blue Moon for three nights. The rooms are fine - clean and with free a/c. The hotel is pretty basic - there is free (slow) wifi but only in the reception area. The hotel is situated on a beautiful, quiet beach with pleasant swimming. Our hostess was quite nice and helped us with directions ect even... More
