Quite standard campsite, which gets very busy due to its location. Not a campsite to stay for its atmosphere, but it provides a great location to start your Etosha trip and the waterhole virtually guarantees you great wild viewing - if you don't mind sitting back and patiently waiting: we saw 9 rhinos including 2 babies and just as many...

We stayed at Okaukuejo rest camp in the middle of Etosha national park as it was recommended for it floodlit water hole. We had a water hole room, which means it is near to the waterhole but doesn't necessarily have a view of the waterhole! Room itself was clean and bed comfortable however the facilities, especially linen and towels were...

We knew when we booked a Waterhole Chalet at Okaukuejo that it was overpriced, but we decided that the trade-off of staying in Etosha and being able to sit by the waterhole at night was worth the cost. Having done it, I am not sure it was worth it. All references to the waterholes mention the "abundance of wildlife". We...

Going back to Etosha National park after 13 years was a serious walk down memory lane for me. We camped in tents in Okaukoejo and needless to say it was quite an experience. If you are used to the city life, I would recommend you stay in the Chalets. They had renovated their bathrooms and had hot water and clean...

I stayed at Okaukeujo for one night as part of my honeymoon in April 2016. We wanted to make sure we got the opportunity to hang out at this waterhole, particularly after dark to see the black rhinos and we were not disappointed! Despite not being 'peak' season, the waterhole was very active, with large herds of zebra as well...

Everything turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The reviews hadn’t been good and we even attempted to find alternative accommodation as a result, but couldn’t at short notice. We almost dreaded our one night stay here but decided to expect nothing and hope for the best. The chalets we had (watering hole view) were gorgeous - big bed draped...

The door did not open so we had to call a cleaner who called the reception. She opened the door and the bathroom and hall were flooded due to leakage of the toilet. We got a new room which was in order. The dinner and breakfast were very nice. we considered it a good start to explore the park but...

It is such a pity that the facilities are not well maintained. Some things worked and others didn't. When we arrived, we were given a site map that had been photocopied so many times that the information was not easily readable. The map details were poor as well. All the staff were friendly and helpful except for one. It was...

We had a waterhole chalet, great location and comfortable. Loved the waterhole, always something to see although signs asking for silence need to be in German as well as English! Attractive surroundings and pools. The check in system was poor, unenthusiastic staff. The shop was empty, no milk and essentials so make sure you go prepared. The restaurant was also...

Really great locations. Being on the front of the waterhole allows you to know when the animals are coming down to drink. You will see elephants, rhino, giraffe, zebra etc. We spent most of our time waiting for the show but took a morning safari drive to see some lions. Warning: no units have any cutlery or plates. Waterfront units...
