We stayed here June 21-24, 2023 and we are very happy with our stay, both rooms were very clean, they gave us fresh towels daily and made the bed daily, all of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, we had breakfast each morning and everything was very good and the girls kept it stocked, the elevators worked great which for me is a huge plus with using a walker ,the front desk staff is very friendly you could ask them questions and they were not afraid to talk to you , they do have an indoor pool and we also got fresh cookies each night, got to get them fast but that is no problem at all, and this hotel is not far at all from the ferry to go over to Mackinac Island. It also has easy access to get on the Mackinaw Bridge which is amazing to drive across. We would recommend staying here I did not think to get a picture of the pool area, upper level rooms have balconies you can sit out on and there is restaurants close by and one you can walk to if you have energy left, we can not thank them enough for making our stay very enjoyable , we will stay here again

This property has attractive lighting and curb appeal, but feels like an older hotel on the inside. They had no record of my online request for a quiet room away from the interstate next door and the front desk representative was unable to move me to another room at the other end of he hotel. Our room was on the second floor, perhaps because of the discounted rate that I booked on IHG; rooms on the third and fourth floors have balconies. I suspect that none of the rooms on either side/end of the hotel are immune from the sound of truck traffic outside coming off of the bridge. Comfortable bed. Bath gel and shampoo were in large dispensers in the shower (no bar soap). Due to COVID protocols we had to leave our dirty towels in a basket outside of the door for replacements; however, somebody must have entered the room without cleaning it or making up the bed, because the tip that I had left on the dresser was taken. Breakfast was crowded when we ate, but the food choices were stocked and above average (including bacon one day). The pancake machine worked. Darrow's restaurant is across the street.

We stayed overnight on our way further up North. The rooms were clean and the staff pleasant. I found them very observant of the Covid situation. They only go into rooms to clean after the 5th or 6th day but you could get clean towels at any time. Each room had a laundry basket that you could use to put in soiled towels and place outside your door for clean ones.

Yes, this hotel is noisy inside and out. Cars park right up to the building, motel-like, and inside construction is cheap and inadequate. I guess it's an older design.
And of course it hasn't been a good year for hotels, especially many in heavy tourist areas. I've by necessity had to travel during this last year, and noted that most hotels used the downturn to freshen up rooms, and address longstanding maintenance issues.
This hotel was NOT one of these. Despite most of the hotel staff NOT wearing masks (signifying to me that they were fully vaccinated), the hotel has kept in place cost-reduction items for no good reason. The usual Holiday Inn Express breakfast was still a sack of less than desirable breakfast items.
Our room had a dirty carpet (the bottom of my feet can attest) and the bathroom shower was covered with heavy mold areas. Really?
And the biggest issue that management said wasn't a problem? Rear doors to the parking lot and adjacent hotel had broken locks and the usual "swipe key" to open isn't necessary. This is a serious safety infraction. Sadly management didn't see it this way, even more discouraging.
Find somewhere else, please.

Just came back from a one night stay. Opted for this location as it had a pool and hot tub, which was the purpose of our overnight trip. More on that below.
I was greeted politely and welcomed as an IHG member. I was told the room wasn't ready, which was understandable, but I did request an early check in and mentioned this. We still had to wait 2 hours for our room. I don't know what the problem was, staff apologized but it was not genuine and they were more concerned about incoming wedding guests. I asked if requesting early check in online was not the right way to do it, and the guest services clerk kind of just laughed and said not really.
So we check in, go to our room and all is fine. The hotel is a bit dated, but mostly clean. If I were being picky about the rooms, the most I would really say is that the bedside lamps are really dusty and could use a damp wipe down, but otherwise it was fine and standard Holiday Inn Express rooms.
So, about the pool. I booked this stay specifically to get away for one night with my mom and son, have a swim and hangout in the hot tub. We use the key, enter the pool area and.... wow. Probably the most filthy pool area I have seen.

I suppose if you are staying here for any other reason and would not be using the pool it would be fine. But I was disappointed and felt like it was a complete waste of time and money. Because entering this pool was NOT an option.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Mackinaw City on the 5th of June. We checked in late and when we arrived to get our room key we were hit with a waiver that stated we would not smoke marijuana in the room or else it was a $250 charge. We did not have a problem signing the waiver seeing as how we had no intentions on smoking marijuana in the room. We then notice that money was steadily being taken out of our account by the hotel. Upon calling Monday night on the 9th of June we were put in contact with their night auditor Donald. Upon trying to explain the situation he became rude and told us that the head housekeeper reported smelling marijuana in the room. He then accused me of getting loud with him and then hung up. I intend on trying to contact management and the head of housekeeping tomorrow morning. I have every intention on taking legal action against this hotel. They can not and will not treat their African-American guest in this manner.

This accommodation is an older property and is somewhat poorly managed. Communications regarding COVID protocols need improvement (how to handle room cleaning, etc.). Front desk personnel are seemingly unconcerned with guests inconvenience. The breakfast servers are commendable. I would not stay here again.

We stayed here for one night with our dogs. The located is right off the highway by the Macknaw Bridge and across from the Crossings so restaurants and stores are fairly close. We opted for the disabled rooms for more space because we have the dogs and it was esp the bathroom that was a room in itself!
The hotel offered a to-go bag which is nice due to COVID and meals are not served anymore. The bed was very comfortable. We had two queen beds each with 4 comfortable pillows! I would highly recommend if youre in the area and looking for accommodations with comfortable beds or with your furry friend so they may be comfortable.
Tip- If traveling with pets, rooms are only on ground floors only and closer to side doors for walking dogs highly recommend.

It's not a luxury hotel, but was still worth every penny. The room was clean and was big. Because we had one of the larger rooms, it had two balconies. We didn't use them since we were there was a lot of Mayflies, but that is not the hotels fault. It was just the season for them. They do offer a good breakfast with good options, but there is a gas station nearby in case you want to get snacks. One thing I do want to mention, since there was a incident while we were there, the hotel does not offer room service. If you need clean towels, there is a basket you can place outside your door with the dirty towels. The clean towels will be left right inside the door. Apparently, a guest was not aware of this and yelled at staff as if yelling and throwing a tantrum would make room service magically appear. Overall, the staff was great. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked last minute and we are happy with our hotel and room. The lobby is clean and check in was simple and quick. Our room was clean and there is a nice sized refrigerator and a microwave. The amenities in the shower are built in shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The mattress was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was grab and go but was really nice. Breakfast sandwiches to go as well as oatmeal made and in a dish. Overall our stay was nice and comfortable.
