1. I’m disabled but not in a wheelchair. The handicapped room we reserved was the farthest from the elevator, a long walk for a disabled person to walk. It was right next to the stairs but what handicapped person does well with stairs? Before we settled in the room I called to inquire if another king bed room was available nearer the elevator and was flippantly told no, even though the vacancy sign was lit outside. No other rooms were offered nor was there any attempt to resolve the issue.
2. We reserved far in advance and we reserved two separate nights because we decided to add another day. The card we used to secure the room was compromised between the time we reserved and traveled but we called and gave the new replacement credit card number to secure the room, stressing that we had two reservations and that the card should be used on both nights. We were assured both had been updated. On the second night we arrived back at our room after 10 PM to discover we were locked out. Presuming our key cards had been magnetized my husband went to the front desk for replacements, leaving me sitting on the stairs. We discovered they tried to charge the old card which was properly declined. Even though we were there, they did not reach out to us by phone or text nor did they look back at the prior night to see the correct card number. The new correct card was presented and charged. There was no apology offered for the error.
3. When we entered our room we discovered the room had not been cleaned and restocked. The bed was unmade, towels in the floor, etc. the room should have been serviced that morning. The card should not have been charged until after 6 PM; therefore there was no excuse for not cleaning the room.
4. The most egregious error and the reason the hotel received a 2 instead of a 3 is that these problems were brought to the attention of Wyndham after the second nights debacle. It has been 4 weeks and Wyndham has yet to respond, despite being reminded the issue remained pending on 3 occasions.
5. Overall the hotel needs to be spruced up. Peeling wallpaper, frayed carpet - but the bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a view of the lake, but staff training is a major issue
You will not get your money's worth. The coffee in the lobby was extremely watered down. Also, the hotel is in dire of a deep clean and updating.
I left a pair of shorts and a set of earrings behind and was told that they threw them away...
I was so disappointed.....
