Clean, comfortable room with a nice view. We had a late check in. The sliding door lock was really weird with a bar. The Balcony was really nice and went right out to the beach. There was no breakfast as advertised on the website and even on the sign out front. They gave us a coupon for ½ of a breakfast at a couple of local restaurants that you can get out of any tourist flyer in town.

The furniture in the room was old and dated and should be replaced. There were bugs all over the outside of the door due to the parking lot and hallway lights (which we were grateful for the lighting), but they came into the room and just buzzed all night and hung on the walls.

Housekeeping kept trying to come into the room without knocking three times before 10:45 am. So annoying!

Overall, this was a good stay, and we would stay here again.

My girlfriend and I stopped here late on Saturday night with limited options in the Mackinaw City area. The staff said they only had 1 room available with 2 double beds and that it was a “nice” 2 room suite for $189. What followed was literally spending a night in a horror movie set. This room had not been updated since the 1970s. The wallpaper was peeling off of the old paneled walls, the carpet was buckled, the paint was peeling off the ceiling. The furniture was old, scarred and stained. The queen size beds had been placed over full size frames. The bed closest to the adjoining bedroom was turned on the frame at an angle to try and make enough room to open the door to the extra room. It could not be opened the full way. The yellow tiled bathroom was moldy. Dirty, thick caulking surrounded the entire bathroom. There was very little hot water in the unit. We never even took a shower because we could not get enough hot water to do so. We had to leave the water run at least 20 minutes just to get enough warm water to wash our faces. The bathroom door jammed two times. If no one else had been in the main room to body slam the door open, we would’ve been locked in the bathroom with no way to contact anyone. Continental breakfast consisted of bottled water, apples, and granola bars. Response from the managers and quality inn corporate offices has been useless. Don’t even stop at this place unless you’re filming a horror movie, turning a trick, or making a drug deal.

Nice to be right on the beach however, our rooms were not up to par. First one - screen door hardly attached, air conditioner POURED out water in middle on night all down pine wall and carpeting. They did fix, but we changed to bigger spacious room with only HOT water. Scalding shower. The breakfast is granola bars, coffee and black tea. Outdoor blue chaise lounges were old and didn’t work, they had approximately 5 good plastic ones. Fire pits on Beach need to buy your own wood. Pool opens 12:00. Personally, I would not go in it. It did not have that chlorine smell and I’m used to in public pools plus the sand from previous night was still on step next morning.
This place needs maintenance and cleaning. Plant some flowers, weed, power wash the bugs, etc.
Friendly front desk.

Had a glitch with the first room we checked into, but manager went above and beyond to make it right, so we appreciate that. Kids loved the beach. I'm not sure if there is breakfast, but I would hope so.

"It was nice to have a balcony with a lake view. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean" Went in off season so it was very quiet. This hotel is close to both ferry docks so you can go on any of them. You can purchase tickets for both ferries at the hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights with no pool, no spa, no continental breakfast which was advertised and we had no advance notice that these amenities were not available. We had to use another hotel's pool. NOT a single day did Housekeeping do their job. We were told that the room was ready when we checked in but it was dirty. None of the 3 beds were made with fitted sheets, a flat sheet on the bottom that was not of proper size so our feet were on the mattress cover or mattress pads. The tub, after taking a shower and all the water had drained out of the tub, still sounded like there was water in it, which means that there is water under the lining. No hot water in the bathroom sink unless you have the time to sit around and wait forever. Dust on the TV's and stands/dressers, and chairs. Wallpaper coming off of the walls and vanity. Bathroom floor grout had mold/mildew. Bugs and cobwebs in the corners and in the window sill and the windows were dirty. Fridge sitting directly on the carpeted floor so the door does not open easily. Wifi was not easy to login to and not strong. We had a separate room with a 3rd queen bed and that room had water damage by the ceiling light and the wall socket that was by the bed had appeared to look burnt at one time. The phone had no directory, and the binder that holds brochures was caked with food. Doors were sticky as well as dirty, and not easily opened. This includes the front door which we had to forcefully push or pull open each time we would enter or exit the room. The threshold was very high and could have been dangerous. The room had a musty/mildew odor. We were a family of 5 and only had 3 plastic cups and 4 coffee cups, when I went to get more cups the front desk ladies were rude, however when we checked in they were nice. With no housekeeping dirty towels were not taken out and replaced with new. No extra toilet paper. No trash was taken care of. Floors were dirty and not vacuumed or scrubbed. Luggage trolleys left out in the parking lot, housekeeping kept the sheets and towels in roll bins outside. The outside entrance to the breakfast area was left ajar. The room looked nothing like the picture in fact nothing looked like what it was on line. Camping in a campground cabin would have been cleaner!

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. The hotel is disgusting! From the smell, the rooms and the staff. There were bags of dirty laundry all over grounds of the morel. We checked into our room which was clearly occupied by other people there was stuff everywhere. I went back down and got a second room and the security lock was broken plus broken light bulbs over the sink and the room smelt terribly. Management REFUSED to credit me and so here I am $300 + dollars later and you couldn’t pay me to stay in the room. The manager Michael and staff member Andy were terrible. Andy the front desk staff member was extremely rude and the other lady working referenced a person on the phone as “retarded”. Wow, please no one ever stay here!

This location is outdated to say the least. The room smelled like it had been wet before when we walked in, the beds are not comfortable, the staff is less than friendly. and the breakfast was not being served at all. They offered us an apple and a prepacked cheese danish in place of the hot breakfast advertised on their site. The only real upside to this property is that it is on the beachfront. I'm a choice priveleges member, I asked about a possible upgrade to at least a lake view which I was told was wopping $35 more even thought the place was nowhere near at copacity.

Very good accommodations. Clean, nicely furnished room, friendly staff, and good view of the lake from the room. Beach was clean and pleasant. There was a "take away" breakfast and bottled water in the lobby each morning.

We had confirmation of our room, but received a call that it was no longer available and we were being moved to another hotel with an upgraded room. Unfortunately, we needed handicapped parking and there was none available even close, plus we were supposed to walk up to the 5th floor, which was not an option for us. When we let them know that room would not work for us, we were refused a refund even though there were at least 8 potential customers who came in asking for a room and were told nothing was available! I even spoke up to a couple of these customers and said they could have the room assigned to us as we weren't able to access it, and the staff refused to refund us to give it to those customers. At one point, one of the desk people yelled "you aren't handicapped, you aren't in a wheelchair!" Some training on the definition of handicapped needs to happen! After an hour of reminding them of ADA regulations and supposed phone calls to someone in charge, a refund was issued. Rude staff and after reading other reviews on this hotel regarding cleanliness and bed bugs, maybe I should be happy we didn't stay there! Never again. St. Ignace is much better!!

Hello, It is all false advertisement. They're website is very misleading do not believe anything they have told you. The rooms are NOT new, they are NOT updated. Our furniture did not even match. Not just our room was in this condition, but others as well, as we spoke to other guests when we were there. We were very disappointed. I find it disingenuous for them to lure people to their location knowing they are not going to sleep well. It's a terrible strategy if you care about people. You mentioned being concerned and you should be. Especially if you are already at risk with allergies etc, do not risk aggravating your health or worse. Follow your gut, do not be influenced by some cheap rate that is being offered. Stay somewhere else, please. You've read other posts, our experience was no coincidence. Personally, we would have been better off staying in Gaylord and commuting in. Don't waste your time with this one, book elsewhere.
