Breakfast was only granola bars and fresh coffee. Bogo breakfast buffet across street was ok - cost $22 for 2 (without drinks).
Beach front was great with clean sand and shallow for walking / wading. Good chairs and tables to use.
Indoor heated Swim pool was open, but no hot in or sauna working. Sadly.
Room was clean. But AC was super loud motor. Bring ear plugs.

Checked in for a 2 night stay on July 12th at 4 pm and our room was not cleaned so they gave us another room with a giant bird nest at the top of the door. We asked for a third room where the bathroom floor was sticky and peeling up the sink was badly stained and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The pool area was also disgusting with a dirty hot tub, nasty bathroom that was dirty and the pool had lots of white bubbles. The sauna was locked and the breakfast was a tiny cup of OJ with a small granola bar in a paper sack. The coffee in the checkin area was really weak and the waitstaff was surly and didn’t want to give my husband the breakfast sack because it was a couple minutes after 9. Don’t waste your money!! This place should be condemned as the decking on the second floor is falling apart. Ironically they had two lift trucks with painters working on the red exterior. Perfume on a hog as my mother used to say.

This location was able to accommodate a room for 6 people in a room. Loved the location right on the beach, walking close to town and ferries. Rooms are well used with no recent updates. Friendly staff.

We checked into our beachfront room and instantly there was a smell when we walked in. We noticed a dehumidifier and on the floor by the dehumidifier was black mold on the wall by the carpet. We looked around the room and noticed that wallpaper was pulling up from the wall and when we looked behind it, there was black mold. We went to the front desk and asked for a refund so she looked to see if she could transfer us to another room but they were booked full. Again we asked for a refund and she said she couldn’t give us one and gave me the number for customer service. No one has answered the customer service number the 20 times I’ve called. Do not stay here

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights, but left after 2. Poor appearance of our room left us feeling uncomfortable and we didn't want to stay any longer than necessary. There were holes in the walls in the bathroom that needed repaired, 2 light bulbs did not work (bathroom & seating area), multiple large stains on the carpet. We only stayed because we read online that you would have to pay regardless of leaving early. Toilet was clogged and required plunging immediately upon first use in the room. Pool was extremely cloudy that the kids did not want to swim in it. We picked a Lake View room - no chairs on small deck and it was covered in spider webs and bird poop.

So disappointed in this hotel. The only redeeming factor, assuming you don’t want any amenities, is the location on the beach about a 5 minute walk from the ferry docks. However, there are many cleaner, more modern and affordable places to stay in Mackinaw City or St. Ignace. The room was terribly out of date, dark, and smelled like an odd mix between mildew and bleach. The bathtub looked so unclean I would have never showered in it, with caulk broken and peeled up. Paid for an upgrade to a room with a hot tub and beach front access, the hot tub did not look clean enough to use and the beach front access has a dirty glass door and cheap looking screen. The WiFi didn’t work in our room at all, and the manager’s solution was to “use the hotel’s next door” (that didn’t work, either). The lighting in the room is super dim, and it just looks like the hotel needs a head to toe renovation to be worth more than $75 a night (we paid $200).

I was really disappointed in our stay. The room itself was extremely dated and didn't look like the photos at all. The room felt so dirty, the carpet was awful with a gross residue on it and we couldn't even comfortably walk on it. There were lights burnt out, the balcony was plywood and the photos posted on the booking page were incredibly misleading. I recognize that a super 8 is a budget option, but cleanliness is a non-negotiable.

The booking information was also inaccurate. The "light breakfast" of a granola bar and coffee or tea was so unacceptable. We booked the hotel because it included breakfast.

The hotel was not the worst I have ever stayed at but definitely not the best. The staff were very nice and accommodating. For the money they charge (although compared to others in the area they were decent) they need to put it back into the hotel. The rooms and balcony are very dated. The room was not cleaned the best. There was a dirty qtip on the bathroom floor. The beds weren't bad. We had a room right on the water (which was beautiful) but the sliding glass door has a broken seal and it is all cloudy so you cannot see out of it. The parking situation was horrible as there were two vehicles that took up four or five parking spots each so there was no room left for others to park. If you are looking for a "cheaper" hotel in Mackinaw City and don't care if it is real nice then this one would be okay for you otherwise look elsewhere.

Room was dated with old furniture, bathroom fixtures, and numerous stains on the carpet. Deck with peeling paint and loose floorboards. Overgrown weeds in area between parked car and hotel room door. Breakfast is a coffee pot and basket of granola bars on a small table located in a corner of the office.

This place is the worst place I have been to!! The rooms were disgusting. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls revealing TONS of mold underneath. The ceiling is drooping. There is a hole in the wall exposing rot and more mold. We payed for an “upgraded” room with a balcony, however, we could not enjoy it because it was covered in spiders and their webs. There were bugs constantly in our room. Bathroom had no ventilation (just a hole in the ceiling exposing the lights and wires where the vent should be) causing the bathroom to still be wet the next morning after showering the night before. Also making extremely uncomfortable to shower longer than 5 minutes. The front desk women during the night was very nice and helpful, but the one during the day was rude and ignored our concerns about the condition of the room. The wifi is not in range of hardly any of the rooms and the wifi password that is provided does not work for any of the networks that are available. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The place is in dire need of upgrading. The outside carpet was worn / torn and the rooms were run down - worn / stained carpet but it was clean & no mold, however I stayed there in late fall. One disadvantage: while the pool is indoor, it is in a separate building - fine in summer but in cold weather, need to wrap up kids and shuttle to the room, cold & wet.
