Used it for three nights, what they don’t tell you is 1)the breakfast is in the Hamilton next door, from 7 a to 9 a,IF YOU CAN GET ANY FOOD..the guy was slow the refilling was slow the selection was not there, and the guy closes exactly on time,he has no help,2)the wifi is the pits it comes and goes at will and both the day and night girls, who were very pleasant, did nothing to alleviate the situation, they said they would send someone, that never happened, the place was quiet for two nights then the motorcycle people arrived for their weekend and all you got was the revving of the engines( not the hotels fault) it was passable

We've literally stayed in hundreds of hotels (two 30+ day cross country road trips plus numerous 2 - 3 week trips) and this has to be the worst. Multiple things caused this rating. We're in the middle of a 12 day raod trip and the reason we booked this hotel was because the website says they have laundry facilities. NOPE, none on the property. The website advertises hot breakfast. NOPE, water & a granola bar. The room was not in good shape. The trim on the inside of the front door looked like it was kicked in and was broken, but instead of replacing it, they just screwed it into the wall. The security bar was broken; there was no place for the bar to latch onto. There were pieces of wallpaper torn or ripped throughout the room, the railing on the deck was super loose, and one side only had one screw holding it together, and there was a smell throughout the room. The owner needs to stop being a cheapo and puit some money into the hotel. When we checked in, the front desk agent was more interested in trying to sell me ferry tickets than answering my questions. The owner also owns the LIghthouse restaurant, which is why they give you a BOGO coupon for breakfast. The only nice thing about the place was the view. Will never stay there again, and if you are in the area, stay someplace else. I can't believe people gave this place a 5 star rating.

Room was clean, updated, and convenient location. Price affordable. We only wanted room for (1) night because we arriving late after the Ferry stop running to the Island. Breakfast included was a discount at local restaurant across the street due to Covid19 - which was ok with me. Was a bit disappointed because I assumed we would be able to see the water and the bridge from the hotel. But due to the city pier, it blocked the view of the bridge and there was no lights on around the water. But that was my fault for not inquiring more. I would not want to stay there for longer than a night because of this. Overall though, if you are looking for clean, comfortable room with a helpful, courtesy staff - I would recommend.

from the time we checked in to the very last day we experienced multiple issues that although reported to the front desk many were never addressed. To start off with we entered the room and none of the electrical cords were plugged in including the TV, Cable, Refrigerator (which by the way had water inside of it), Lamps. the air conditioning was turned off, and cob webs were all around the room . Notified desk and someone came and dusted the webs from the lamps and left all of the others in place. I personally plugged in all of the above mentioned and although the person who dusted the lamp shades did empty the tray of water he did not clean any of the remaining inside the unit. We go out to our balcony only to find it so spider infested that I again cleared the webs and insects from everywhere out there.

Finally get comfortable on the balcony to be greeted by several dogs running around, I thought this was a non pet hotel. We experienced these animals on a daily basis. Again no response from the front desk only to say they can not control what goes on on the beach.

Go to take a shower and find a large Mold growth on the ceiling above the shower head, again no response or measures to correct the problem.

Although the hot water in the shower was great, there was never enough to fill the in room hot tub, the water would turn cold before 1/4 of the tub was full.

Now lets get to the complementary free breakfast. we were handed a coupon for a buy one get one free breakfast at a restaurant across the street. Not what was promised.

I could go on for a lot longer but I would then look like I am just picking on the facility, I will let the photos speak for themself

The bottom line is that I would not stay here again nor would I recommend the hotel to anyone else

As an experienced hotel operations manager, I really was disappointed with the overall customer service of this property.

My first negative experience occurred BEFORE I even set foot on the property. I was about 30-50 minutes away from the hotel when I received a call from a front desk clerk saying that my credit card authorization did not go through and that I needed a new form of payment that instant or my room will be sold as it was Labor Day weekend and the hotel sold out. I understand the predicament the clerk was in however, I lock my credit card as I am afraid of being hacked or scammed. When I assured the clerk I was less than an hour away and I can provide the same card to authorize, she was very adamant that there may not be a room to arrive to if I did not provide a new method of payment. Is it Comfort Inn policy/ or the property management policy to receive credit card numbers over the phone and not a credit card authorization form?

I found that very disappointing, I would never give my credit card number over the phone and this policy should change. Not to mention the attitude over the phone was not necessary.

I walked through the lobby and absolutely no welcome. Not a how are you, welcome to the Comfort Inn, It was just a “can I help you?” Without a smile or any enthusiasm.

I was given my keys and a map, but no WiFi instructions, Pool hours, or given any other amenity information.

I checked into my room and the room was a bit outdated, which I could live with, my complaint isn’t about the outdated room. It’s about the attitude and the left over food in my refrigerator as well. I called the front desk to please have housekeeping remove it.

I made a phone call later that night to get the WiFi information as I wasn’t given the code at check in. The clerk was a man this time and said the password so fast I asked him nicely to repeat himself. He then condescendingly “told.me.the.password”. I almost wanted to say I’m sorry for asking.

At check out there was a totally different clerk, still, no how was your stay? Or may I help you with anything else? But, at least she smiled?

The pros: nice view of the lake

Ran out of hot water. Put on 3rd floor with no elevator. Entry room to beach area needs a good cleaning, 10:15 pm fireworks outside our room were never mentioned at check in. Trash bins in hallway were overflowing with garbage. Grab and go breakfast consisted of an apple, a granola bar and a water bottle. About the only good thing I can say is that the view is quite good from the balcony.

The room was up dated but it looked like it had been stripped. No towel racks , no info about the hotel. The fridge needs defrosting no extra toilet paper less than half a roll was left in the bathroom. The phone information card was gone. Using COVID as an excuse for substandard service. The beach was filthy. Gave b1g1 coupon for breakfast (it was gross). Used to work for comfort this is not the way they run hotels. Not cleaning rooms on multi day stays is ridiculous. Been traveling for over a week and every other hotel cleaned our room on the second day and offered breakfast. Very disappointed in this Choice Hotel.
Pros- the beds were nice. I think it was an updated room

We were really happy to get a room with a patio that opened right onto the beach…not so happy when we discovered that just outside our door was a pavilion with several picnic benches. Not only was it the noisiest place on the beach, there was a smoking spot right next to our patio door which made the room smell like cigarettes. It’s been a while since the rooms have been redone - there were stains on the carpet, the woodwork was full of scratches and dings, and one of the chairs felt like it was about to fall apart. On the plus side, the bathroom fixtures were new, and we were treated to an excellent fireworks show right outside our patio. The pool was a good size and clean. The “breakfast,” unfortunately, was a bag with a power bar, apple and bottle of water. They should really take the “free breakfast” off their website, this wasn’t it. Overall though, it was clean and centrally located, could have been much worse.

I used reservations.com and they screwed up. Then after they screwed up, the comfort inn hotel didn't do a much better job. I chose to book a room for 2 adults and it booked it for 1. Stayed up till about 4 am on the phone getting that straightened out two days before I checked in. Also the website said I'd have a balcony with a lake view when I booked it, but instead I was on the ground level with no view or balcony whatsoever. Then I checked in to the hotel to find mayflies all over the room. Our mini fridge was not working, but that got that cleared up kind of fast. Then the heat wasnt working either, finally got the fixed the day before we checked out. Then also the first night when we went to watch tv, the cable wasnt working. It was about midnight when we finally tried to use the tv, so I called the front desk and told them it wasn't working and after about 30 minutes a guy finally comes to fix it. It took about another hour for that, so the tv wasn't even fixed till about 1:30 am and we had to wait to go to sleep until he was all done. There was lots of problems, lots of bugs everywhere, groundskeeper was very rude and yelling at guest to move their vehicles so he could leaf blow, and I never got a room with the balcony and view that I paid for. Overall was not happy and will never come back. Probably would have been better off sleeping in the car.

WOW!!!! Where to begin. The carpet was so dirty you had to wear your shoes so your feet didn't get black on the bottom. There were dead spiders in the bathroom and cob webs in the other part of the room. The bath tub was so dirty it needed cleaned before we could use it. The bed sheets had stains. For breakfast you had to go to the hotel next door for a lovely cold and rubbery pancakes. We think the meat was ham but too scared to try it. The staff was so delightful NOT. When complaing about these items they wanted to just cut you off and get you out the door. The price we paid for this wonderful experience. I can say we'll never be back to this hotel and for all of you thinking about staying at this hotel run. Go fine a dumpster to sleep in and take a bath in Lake Michigan. They will be cleaner then this hotel and the rats in the dumpster will be more pleasant then the staff.

Most of us were on the ground floor. However, there is an elevator to get to second floor and breakfast area. However, it's off to the side and hooked with the net hotel. Kind of confusing.

Good Morning No, there is a bizarre way that they charge a group depending on when the individuals make their reservation. Our group goes there every August for the big Corvette show and a couple years ago we had different rates for some of the couples that was more than the rates we were quoted for the group. But, if you have paid in advance, that should be it! Safe Travels! Mark
