Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed in a king size room w/balcony. Our view was of the park with Lake Huron also in view. We found it to be fairly quite even with the bridge right next door. The location was perfect as we traveled to the upper peninsula and also went to Mackinac Island. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, gift shops also. The main shopping district is also within minutes of the hotel, by car.. I found checking in was easy and the front desk to be very pleasant. Due to Covid there was no breakfast or cleaning service. Didn’t find this to be an issue as we usually bring our own breakfast foods along, and when we requested fresh linens our front desk had them to our room within minutes. I will be returning to this location for our future visits to this area.

I almost did not book at this hotel because of some of the reviews. But I am sure glad I decided to stay here anyway! It was truly a great experience for us. The hotel is the closest hotel to the Mackinaw Bridge. We were able to easily walk to the bridge, the fort, the lighthouse and even downtown was only a 10 minute walk! The convenience alone makes it worth the stay. The room was larger than most hotel rooms. It was a bit dated, perhaps from the 90's but that did not bother us one bit because it was very clean and the beds were comfortable. One thing I always hope for when booking is the option to have the fan run continuously on the heater/AC unit as it helps me to sleep. I was able to do that here and slept well. We were on the third floor and able to see the bridge from the balcony. There was an elevator which was much appreciated. The service was good and the gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful. He provided a map of the area, gave recommendations of places to eat and showed us various ways to get to downtown without driving. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is the smell of cigarette smoke that was in our room. The rooms are non-smoking but several people were smoking on the balcony in front of their room which of course drifts into the rooms. I would suggest having a designated smoking area set up for guests to use. The smell in the room was not horrible, but I could smell it slightly. Other than that I would definitely recommend! We will stay here again.

I can's say this was a value decision. In fact, we pretty much stayed here because most other choices were sold out. We stayed on two disconnected nights in the same room. One night it was a great price about $140 and the next night was more prime time and the room was double that. The staff were great, very friendly. The room we stayed in was small but sufficient. We did not have much of a view. I expected the room to be noisy but it really wasn't a problem.

Was able to book a room on their website, admittedly this was same day. I was told “just because it was booked, doesn’t mean it was confirmed”. So we were left without a hotel room and scrambling to find another. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude. Interestingly we had booked a double queen room and conveniently there were two King rooms available, obviously, at an additional cost. What was most interesting/disturbing is that there was a group just in front of me who had also booked the double queen room and was having the same conversation.

We booked in February 2023 for June 2023. We got a message end of March that 'oops you were given the wrong price' and told us to keep our reservation the price would actually be something like $80 more than we were told. This is so unprofessional; I've worked in multiple hotels in multiple states and none of my employers would act this shady. Book at the other hotels on the same drag or go across the bridge to the Super 8 or any of the St Ignace hotels really. You'll encounter honest establishments there who won't force people to cancel and rebook at higher prices. (Set your damn prices higher in the first place, don't screw your guests over because you have seller's remorse.) We found lovely accommodation somewhere very nearby for the price we were initially told at this hotel, and we called to verify our new reservation and they assured us that they don't conduct themselves the way this Parkside Inn does. Glad to have other options!

We paid $350 a night to view the bridge. For that amount there should be shampoo and conditioner in the rooms, there wasn't. We stayed two nights- only one coffee in the room for one use and no coffee for the second day. When requested a single use coffee to be brought to the room- we were told she couldn't leave the desk but she was never at the desk, a buzzer was pushed to get her to come to the desk. No breakfast, not even individually wrapped items the basic hotels give out during covid. The tissue dispenser fell apart every time you touched it. The towel rack was broken and fell on the counter regularly. No elevator, outside stairs to second floor in pouring rain. Paint chipping in the rooms, tiles cracked in bathroom, etc. View was wonderful- not $350 a night wonderful though. Sit in the park across the road and enjoy the view for free. Very disappointed.

The owners are very hard to deal with
I had booked 2 rooms a year out , and called to cancel one 3 weeks before arrival . The manager ( owner) said it was not possible .
Then was told a different price when I booked compared to the actual price charged when I arrived . It is less than a 2 star hotel . The rooms are terrible . I had 2 rooms for three days and paid over $2100. For them
Talk about price gouging .
If you go to Mackinaw city do NOT stay here !!!

I paid an expensive rate, almost $200 a night and was VERY disappointed.
I checked in for two nights but wasn’t told that there will be no room service on the 2nd day.
There was no TV remote control nowhere in the room.
I wanted to fill my bath, the lid didn’t work.
I ran out of coffee, no service on 2nd day to fill the coffee or soap supply.

If the rate was half price I wouldn’t have complained but for such a high rate it was a great disappointment.
No breakfast due to COVID. But, why not have a breakfast bag to hand out and a decent coffee on the morning????

Last minute choice & decided to stay in Mac City instead of drive home. Most of my faves were booked so decided to give this venue a try. Room was quite sufficient, on the lower level, with Queen bed, & clean & simple decor. Lots of pillows & windows could be opened for fresh air. Had a nice bathroom with a tub but no frig. or microwave. Bed was firm & room was clean. After guests settled down the evening was quiet even though it is located next to expressway & at the base of the bridge. Nice pool & hot tub but didn't partake this time. Could see the bridge all lit up from my window! Would return again. Price was fair for off-season. One small hitch........room had a coffeepot but there was no coffee!!

Needs some updates, was giving shampoo no conditioner, lighting for the vanity was dim and very small. pool area needed some work lights hanging from the ceiling fireplace insert was missing. It was clean and staff was very curtious.
I guess I just had higher expectations for the price.
