A budget motel. The prices are unbeatable, really, so there is a lot I will put up with for around $50 a night. As others have stated, the motel is tired, but very clean. The water took a VERY long time to get hot and the water pressure was laughable, but we did manage to get clean. Having cable was nice after a long drive up from Grand Rapids, but we found it strange that they didn't offer a queen or king bed, but instead 2 doubles. My husband and I had to sleep separately because of this (I like to spread out when I'm sleeping). Breakfast was satisfactory and the owner was such a sweet man and very friendly and helpful. All in all I would recommend to travelers looking to save some money.

We stopped at this mom and pop motel about midnight on a Thursday night. It said OPEN in bright lights. We pulled up to a lighted office, with no one in it and locked doors. The phone next to the door had instructions to call for service. OK. I called and the lady on the phone was very friendly and quoted us a price of $45. Fine with us. We were only staying the one night. About 10 minutes later, up walked a young lady (16 to 20 maybe), with an angry look on her face with an attitude to match. She yanked open the door and it was obvious she had been sleeping. I tried to make light of it by asking her if I had woken her and she said, "Yes, that is right, I WAS sleeping." Well, excuse me. She told us we could not park our car/camper in front of our room, or along the pool, as it would block the other guests' cars. Not so. She said we'd have to unhitch in the "back" in the "grass" somewhere. No room to do that, either. We just parked along the picnic area and didn't block anyone from their room or parking lot in general. She also stated 10 AM was the check out time as they need to do business the next day. OK..

Our room was very basic-everything worked OK though. Shower pressure was excellent. Basic towels, bed was comfortable. No alarm clock-so who is going to wake us up in time to leave at 10 AM? We called the office-but it doesn't ring through. We called the motel's number and it went again to the nice lady at the beginning of our stay. Apparently, a series of motels has a nighttime operator answer their calls for them and then she must call whomever is working that particular motel's desk that night. I told her of my experience and she said she would let them know about a wake up call at 8: 30 AM and that not to worry about leaving right at 10 AM. We never got the wake up call and we left by 10:15 AM. When we dropped off the key the next morning, another young lady was working and she didn't say a word to us.

So, service was terrible, rooms are fair-definitely older motel that could use a bit of a spruce up. Nice grounds and very nice pool. Small picnic area with a BB grill and swings. I stayed here a few times as a child and have fond memories of it. Good parking lot-recently repaved, or so it looks. Clean. Minimal continental breakfast-don't bother with the watered down orange juice though-horrible. Coffee not much better.

room was relatively clean but needed some bright paint and bedspreads, and new Curtains/drapes AC was noisy; Pool was not clean
Nicest room was the breakfast room. Donuts were frozen.
Price should have been $10 cheaper for me to ever stay there again. I would not recomend this place to any one.

' Shital ' I believe her name was, capably handled my last minute request for a room on a busy end-of-the day, and so was very helpful.

room was clean and spacious. Comfy bed. Got my wakeup calls which many a hotel will botch, unfortunately

The reviews for this motel are misleading. My suspicion is that the motel is writing their own reviews to increase business. The room we stayed in smelled like cat urine, and had mold growing under the sink. We asked for a different room which appeared at first to be better. In the middle of the night we were woken by bugs, upon inspection they were confirmed to be bed bugs. The management was not helpful and denied that they had bed bugs. We were able to capture a few in between plastic cups for proof. Reluctantly they refunded our money, however having to check out in the middle of the night ruined the next day of our vacation. Also the expense of having to clean all of our belonging to avoid bringing the pests home was extremely inconvenient and unacceptable. Do not believe the good reviews for this motel.

Very economical, so stay here if money is a concern and you don't plan on spending much time at the hotel. The pool was disgusting, the breakfast minimal, the rooms not as clean as I would like. The door on the bathroom sink under cabinet was falling off a hinge. Not enough outlets to charge things. Sheets and towels were a bit scratchy. I was afraid to walk barefoot on the carpet. Would never stay here again.

Where to start? We were put here when the original hotel we booked for a few nights lost our reservation for the first night. There were three adults - the room had two beds, but it was clearly the size of a one-bed room with two beds stuffed in. The place was clean - I'll give them that. What we paid was way more than we should have, but it was a Saturday night in August in Mackinaw City! Definitely not worth it! It's pretty bad when the broken toilet paper holder falls off the wall when you go to use it. No pride of ownership here! Never saw any staff there, even when we were in the office having the continental breakfast.

This motel is just awful. Staff is incredibly rude, bed is hard as a rock, the continental breakfast was a joke, and the room was just gross. There were dead bugs in the window, the carpet left our feet black, and the bathroom looked as if it had never been scrubbed. Will NEVER be back.

Stay here if you are on a very tight budget and want to spend less than $50.00. Ben at reception is a nice guy, does just about everything. It can be a transit motel not a vacation stay, that's my opinion

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at the Capri for the State Bar training. The ladies here are so friendly and professional, the rooms are very clean and we feel safe here. To be sure, not much in the free contitental breakfast, but they do have coffee and there are more restaurants in town than you can shake a stick at. The only thing I would really change is, I wish they would add a refrigerator to the rooms. We WILL stay here again if we return to Mackinaw City.
