Detailed Reviews
I mainly chose this hotel for the fun pool/water park that was available, however, when we went to go swimming the entire pool area smelled HORRIBLE. It honestly smelled like dirty water from a zoo, I was greatly disappointed. Due to COVID, there were only 2 of 3 water features open and the hotel was offering a piece of fruit and a bottle of water for breakfast. The bottom drawer of the cabinet that held the fridge, was full of chips from a previous tenant, so be sure to check those kinds of things if you are big on cleanliness. The internet was very spotty, kept dropping and the air conditioner didn't work very well.
The location was absolutely beautiful and was a pleasant distance from the busyness of the downtown area of Mackinaw City.

We stayed for 2 nights. As a family of 4 with kids aged 16 and 10, the water park was not a big draw for us. We were advised it was open upon arrival but that night a storm came thru and caused roof damage so it needed to be shut down for safety and repair reasons. This was Mother Nature, not the fault of the hotel. They began repair work immediately that morning. The Covid closure of part of the water park also cannot be helped. It is just the reality of things right now. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a bit 'damp feeeling' but we opened the patio door to let fresh air in anyway. We spent our days exploring the Island and surrounding areas and upon retun to the hotel we enjoyed the beach and the Lake. The view from the room was amazing! No breakfast was offered due to Covid but that is the same with most places right now. People should not be shocked by this.

+1
I enjoyed my stay here. This is a pretty laid back kind of hotel that is very close to the Shepler's Ferry dock to Mackinac Island (which to me is heaven on earth). Both of the check in staff were easy going, friendly and knowledgeable about the area/attractions. I could tell that they liked their jobs and enjoyed being there. I appreciated that I was offered the convenience of the Shepler's Ferry combination ticket with the carriage tour at a discounted price for $4 less than the dock office price.
The one issue I have though is that a family of ethnic guests were being loud in the hallways and room late at night and somebody left a whole bag of trash sitting in the hallway as well. Plus the beds were a little firm but with the pillowtopper mattress I brought it was soft enough to sleep on. There is also no microwave in the room but I was told I could just use the one in the lobby which I did so no biggie there. The rooms were clean and comfortable nonetheless.
One of the clerks told me he was extending the waterpark hours until either 11 pm or midnight (I don't remember which). But by the time I got my stuff organized it was closed so I did not see it to comment on the condition. I meant to walk in and see what it looked like before checking out early the next day but I was in such a rush to get to the island ferry that I simply forgot.
The breakfast was just a grab n' go because of the pandemic and I don't remember what was in it. I appreciated that they had a buy one get one free buffet breakfast coupon for Toast A-Go-Go but it was packed so my dad and I decided to skip it and eat later on the island.
All in all, I wish I could have stayed 2 nights in this place but it was expensive enough. I would definitely stay here again but next time I think it would be even more exciting if I was to stay on the island itself and see what late nights are like there. Honestly, though no major problems here and rest assured you will be taken care of by the staff!

Hotel's Favourite
I was staying nearby and we had a toilet issue late at night and came to the hotel looking for assistance. The front desk staff went out of their way, making multiple phone calls to get us the help we needed. And we weren't even guests!! It made what could have been a terrible situation so much better. Next time I'm here, we're staying at Bridge Vista!!

Horrible customer service and horrible experience! We stayed at the Bridge Vista on July 10-12, 2020. First of all, they advertise on their website where we booked the room that they offer amenities that they don’t have- free hot breakfast and an indoor water park, slides, lazy river, free WiFi. All untrue! The WiFi was only available in the lobby. The whole place had a musty, moldy, smoky smell, with dirty hotel beach towels strewn on the beach, empty beer and liquor bottles, sand everywhere on the floor. The owner was so rude, we asked for a discount on our overpriced room and he wasn’t willing to budge. Other customers were complaining too. We were celebrating 2 birthdays in our family and it was so disappointing. They shared a coupon for a nearby restaurant as a buy one get one free breakfast (since their free hot breakfast wasn’t offered) and the place wasn’t even open! The owner and front desk said they won’t change their website with correct amenities and they also have a billboard out front near the road where they can take down the advertisement of the free hot breakfast. Incredible waste of money and would never stay there again. We have learned from others that the Hamilton Inn or Best Western down the road are great and will stay there when we return to Mackinaw City.

From the time we walked in Scott, the Gen. Manager gave us exceptional service, making us feel like we we had special privileges. The desk attendants were patient, informative, well trained, and we received an awesome rate. The room was clean, ac was ice cold, and the lake/bridge view was in comparable. We enjoyed the free water park with clean, warm water and relaxed on the sandy shore outside our room. When we needed anything, like assistance in turning on the shower, Scott himself came to the room to demonstrate. When I ran out of cash for laundry services, Scott, did not hesitate in pulling a FIVE put of his own wallet to let me borrow so that we could have clean fresh clothes. The cleaning crew were so sweet and welcoming as well. Scott, his staff, and the amenities were beyond our expectations and we are surely to return for years to come!!!

The water park was closed due to storm but the lazy river and larger slides were closed due to Covid-19. No breakfast was offered, not even water and coffee. None of this was mentioned online when booking.
The room was musty and chair outside on patio was broken. A/C / fan wasn’t working properly.
When asked about a partial refund or future visit voucher for water park the reply we got was “you paid for the room, not the water park.” The room was not worth nearly $200 night. Super 8 does just as nice if not better for simply a room with a miniature coffee maker and fridge.
Very disappointed in their reply and unwillingness to even attempt to remedy the situation.

We booked 2 rooms at this hotel about a month before our stay. A family member also booked a room for the same nights and paid extra for a lake side room. When we arrived to check in, we were informed that we didn't have reservations at that hotel. When we pulled out our confirmation number, they told us that our reservations had been switched to a different hotel because a large group had booked so they had bumped us. Our family member had been moved to a different hotel than we had been moved to, and they acted like this was our fault because we booked the reservations separately. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude and acted like she was doing us a favor by making a phone call to the hotel where we had been moved and asking if they could also accomodate our aunt.
The hotel we were moved to was just down the road and it was fine. There was no waterpark, but we were able to use a waterpark at a different hotel for a $5 fee. Apparently there are a whole group of hotels that are managed by the same company and they can move you from one to the other without notifying you. It wouldn't be a big deal if someone had just called and notified us in advance. But if you book a reservation at a hotel, you should be able to stay at that hotel. And if they do move you without notifying you, there should be a discount issued. Or at least an apology.

When we checked into our room, it was dirty, smelled moldy and bed linens were torn and stained. Due to my asthma and health risks, immediately went back to the front desk and told them I could not stay there. The front desk clerk apologized but informed us the policy was a 72-hour cancellation so we would have to still pay for the room. I asked to speak with the manager and was given his card since he was offsite. We left and found another place to stay. I was finally able to reach the manager and he refused to cancel the charges. No apology for the horrible conditions and when I told him that I would refute the charges on my credit card - he again, did not care and hung up.

Husband had to go there for a business conference. The boss picked this hotel because of the family friendly water park... it was closed due to COVID- no biggie but it should have been posted on their website so another location could have been chosen and families didn’t scramble to entertain the kids. The stairs and halls were covered in sand and dirt at all times of the day as if the day/night shift didn’t clean from the beach. The conference room had a smell like stagnant air.

Shepler's , they offered a discounted rate thru the hotel.
When we stayed there we were told there were licensing issues so the restaurant was not open. Apparently it was under new ownership. We were there the end of July.
I stayed in September of last year, 2015.
