I can not totally express in words the wonderful feelings I had being there. I like to spend time in uncrossed and beautiful comfortable places where you can enjoy the company of your family and feel like you are in another world for a few days. The carriage took us there and from a distance you can see the beautiful... More

This inn is off the beaten path and away from the crowds on Mackinac Island. This leaves mixed feelings. It is a very beautiful place but requires a horse drawn taxi to reach, unless you want to walk. The taxi is $7.00/per each way and takes about 35 minutes so plan accordingly when trying to catch the ferry. My daughter... More

A one night Saturday stay in late Sept. with my wife. Everything was very nice, large 2nd floor room, clean and comfortable. I had added a package deal that included dinner, ferry ride, horse drawn taxi, champagne, etc., that worked out as a decent value. The property is stunning, well maintained, well staffed, with a beautiful view of the bridge... More

Nice stay. If you are looking for a spot in the woods or away from downtown it's a great choice. The carriage taxis add up if you are going back and forth and there is a wait as well. You can take a bike to and from. There is golf close by and The Woods Restaurant is right there. We... More

The Inn at Stonecliffe is a beautiful place to get away from the excitement of Main Street and enjoy a relaxing afternoon/evening. With a view of the bridge, outdoor seating on a lovely lawn, and sunset peak to watch the sun go down, you will unwind so quickly. Staff is accommodating and inviting, willing to help with anything you may... More

My wife and I had a third floor, king, bridge view room. The room was very warm upon arrival. It took a while with the use of two fans to cool it down. We did have a view of the bridge through one small window. Two nights in a row there was no hot water for showers. The reply at... More

I'm afraid I've been late in writing reviews. We actually have stayed at Stonecliffe twice now and are getting ready for our third visit this year. In June we were gifted a night at the mansion. This space takes you back in time and made me feel so elegant and pampered that I didn't want to leave! We actually didn't... More

This was my first visit to Mackinac Island, so I wasn't sure what to expect. After exiting the ferry we waited 20 minutes for a taxi to arrive and then it took another 20+ minutes for the horse drawn carriage to get us to the hotel. (We did have 12 people in the taxi, so that could account for the... More

We love the Inn at Stonecliffe. We were married there and returned this year for our anniversary. We enjoyed our return trip because we were able to really relax and enjoy all the inn has to offer. We had a room in the mansion that looked out at the bridge. It was a beautiful room. Because we visited in mid... More

Worst vacation ever. Entire staff was rude and not helpful at all, from the ferry lines that transport you to the island to the bell boys who work for the hotel everyone acted like they were put out. Star ferry line would not let us on the 5pm shuttle to the island after we were stuck in traffic for 2.5... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inn at Stonecliffe enjoys a storied place in Mackinac Island history. Built in 1904 as a family summer escape by industrialist Michael Cudahy, Stonecliffe has enchanted guests for nearly half a century. Situated high on the west bluff, Inn at Stonecliffe lodging comprises a classic Tudor-style mansion that offers 16 bed and breakfast style guest rooms, and the more modern Summer House Suites, with 31 richly appointed suites decorated in a classic summer cottage style with a light Victorian influence. Overnight visitors to Mackinac Island often observe that the best time to enjoy the island is in the early morning or late evening when the last ferry has carried the daily visitors back to the mainland. At The Inn at Stonecliffe, you’ll enjoy that feeling every moment of your stay. Anywhere you turn, tranquility and relaxation await, from the breathtaking bluff-top views of the Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Bridge to the Inn’s lush, rolling lawns.Special Services and / or Features: • Breakfast Included• Air Conditioning• Onsite Dining and Cocktail Lounge• Weddings and Events• Kitchenettes• Bike Rentals • Cable Television• Outdoor Heated Pool• Private Baths• Telephones• Complimentary Wireless Internet• Non Smoking ... more   less
