We had a great time. Enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked for 3 nights next month. Pool and hot tub were worht it. My son is 8 and it was the perfect size for him. Easy access from the highway. Fun times.
Front desk called me at 11:30 and told me my room was in arrival and I had to leave immediately. Our company usually has two nights booked if we get in late. The gal wouldn’t give me a later checkout and got rude about me leaving. I called my co-worker and we checked out. When I did checkout there was a sign that said check-in was 3pm. I ask why she could have just given me until 1pm to checkout, and she said because she was following the rules her boss gave her. I’m guessing there’s no leeway or common sense here. The breakfast has to be the worst hotel breakfast I have seen in a long time. Fortunately, the is a good restaurant across the highway. The rooms seem to have paper this walls. I heard my neighbors talking in the room next door.
These reviews show me that either the people writing them have never stayed here, their preferences are far below mine, or they are blissfully unaware. This is a gross and unhygienic hotel. I am stunned it was rated #1 by travelers. While we were there, a guest asked for a plunger for a clogged toilet. No maintenance person was summoned...the staff just handed the guest a plunger. A few minutes later, he brought the plunger back, dripping wet, walking through the hotel hallway, carpeting, and front foyer, and placed the bacteria infested plunger on the floor, near the check-in, next to the table where guests get their coffee. The staff walked by it not seeing it. Finally, after a few minutes, the staff took it into the office. The floor where the plunger stood was never bleached. It appeared that 95% of the people we saw were walking around barefoot: in the pool, the public areas (breakfast, anyone?!), then elevators, front lobby (where the plunger had been previously placed), and then they would lay on the couch with feet propped up on the arm rests or wedged under cushions. That fireplace? Oh, it is a decorative foot rest, too. We had 3 rooms for 3 nights over the Holiday. I checked the Holiday Inn Express once we arrived to see if we could switch, but price gouging had begun because their rooms were now double the amount that they should have been, plus there was not enough vacancy for my party. Our hotel rooms at AmericInn were gross: Paint dripped on the AC, dark stains on the lounge chairs and ottoman. My parents, in their 80s, did not even have a lounge chair. They had a banquet style chair. The carpeting is faded, old, and stained. Two of our rooms smelled like sweaty feet. Stains on the shower curtain, and on one towel. Two different color paint everywhere, like someone was patching but never finished painting. Because of no housekeeping, everyone left their dirty and wet towels on the carpet in the hallway (public access). The towels sat there sometimes all day and night. On the 2nd floor, little kids were running up and down the hall thru 1:00 a.m., knocking on the doors. My teen and 22 year old were in a separate room from us, and had to go to the desk to complain about the kids who were running around. The hotel did nothing. I requested to speak to the manager every day, and every day, the manager was "unavailable". However, my mother, who also stayed in a separate room, was able to speak to the manager (Angie), who implied to my mom that she had no control over what is going on; no way to enforce rules. In fact, she didn't even think about making rules. My mom had to suggest to her that she should make a few rules and enforce them. There are wires outside where a lamp may have been, just exposed and easy to touch. There were buckets of paint and tubs of salt visible to guests as we walked through the side door of hotel. The lobby had huge gouges in the drywall. The bed spreads do not fit. This is NOT a #1 ranked hotel. I have no idea who is writing these reviews, but we travel a lot, and this hotel was not clean and so gross, it should be ranked lower than a Motel 6. The only good thing I can say is there were no bed bugs.…
This hotel is very nice. Room was very clean, staff were friendly. Had hot & cold items for breakfast and the eating area was very well maintained. Employee was cleaning frequently. Location was across from a Walmart, so made it easy to run across and get additional items needed.
