Welcome to a small, exclusive retreat that nestles in one of Australia's most beautiful valleys. Here, just eight kilometres as the crow flies from the Pacific Ocean, nine secluded, individually styled, comfortable cottages put you in touch with the best of bush and beach. At Friday Creek Retreat you don't get just a room, you stay in a private, self contained cottage with a full kitchen, spa bath, open fireplace (winter months only) and air conditioning. In fact every comfort you'd expect from a top class resort...without the crowds. On its way to the Orara River, the crystal clear waters of Friday Creek ripple through the Retreat’s one hundred acres of gentle green pastures. The surrounding valley is said to be one of the most beautiful in the world and while it’s just 15 minutes or so to the coastal city of Coffs Harbour, it feels like you are a million miles away. Absolutely wonderful weekend my wife and I had there. The open fire place and spa were real hits. Just waking up in the country setting with no other noise than the natural sounds around you or the total quiteness was also very enjoyable. We highly recommend this place. The owners, Dianne and Paul were a pleasure to deal with.

What a lovely peaceful and quiet retreat. We stayed in the house with our children and grandkids, comfortable and homely with a magnificent fireplace that we had raging both nights, the owners supplied the firewood too! There was also some nice little treats for the kids and some ground coffee for the coffee pots. The swimming pools were beautiful and set in a gorgeous garden. We had a great verandah and the house had very comfy furniture. Definitely recommend

The place is beautiful and quiet and close to many attractions and is advertised as dog friendly, The new owners own two dogs 1 American Staffie and 1 Pit Bull who I think is the rescue dog with an unknown history, they escaped from their yard. To make a long story short they had 3 attempts to attack our dog and we had to lock our self inside while my husband kept chasing them away I was on the phone to the owners who assured me they were friendly maybe to humans but not other dogs. My husband offered to tether them and take the to the owner who was on his way because thats the only way we could think of to keep them away. If you are travelling with your dog please think twice and ask about these dogs.

Thank you for your response and I am sorry your were scared . Both dogs are staffies not pit bulls and both have been in our family since birth . Neither has any history of attacking dogs or people . They were probably keen to play . We do keep them away from the retreat but unfortunately on this day they did escape . When Paul arrived he spoke with your husband for around ten minutes while he patted the dogs , assured Paul there was no problem and told him what lovely dogs they are . We do know staffies are confronting for some people and we do take care to keep them away from guests and their pets .

Stayed 4 nights in beautifully appointed French Provencal cottage, firewood delivered each each night to create romantic atmosphere with evening treats of marshmallows to toast in fire. Then after relaxing spa (double) & great sleep in very comfortable bed, we were treated to freshly baked bread & jams for breakfast. Good self contained kitchen and large fridge made eating in easy. Hammock on verandah overlooked rolling hills and forest with kookaburras and blackbirds singing, reminding us of how blessed we are to live in this wonderful country. Appreciated being able to have our little Cavoodle dog with us, she was made very welcome by both hosts and other guests. Great safe place for families and as an appropriate wedding venue. Will we be back? You bet - already booked for August!! Such a tranquil and beautiful valley, thank you Diane, Paul, Marley and James for everything....

I took a group of 7 women for the weekend. The 3 bedroom cottage and the 2 bedroom cottage were our 'retreat' for the weekend. We enjoyed enough space, facilities, comforts, open fire on a cold, wet night, and a space to exercise, walk or just contemplate the beautiful surrounds.
