Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have dined twice at Fitzgeralds at the Eagle River Inn . . . and found the experience to be "top shelf" -- This time we were able to stay in the Inn for one night, and enjoyed that also. The rooms are adequate (I would have loved a deck or a patio from my room), but we enjoyed the deck off of the dining area. The charm of this place is its location just steps from the water of the Big Lake! Dave and Sue, Rice Lake, WI

The food was excellent and they have an extensive beer menu. Right on the beach on Superior. The hotel is clean with every room having a view of the lake. The guys who own it are very nice. They went out of their way to help us with a credit card transaction that didn't bill properly. Very honest and good people. Will stay there again next time we're UP.

Stay 2 nights in early August. The view is amazing. Enjoyed walking the miles long beach, so peaceful and relaxing. The food at Fitzgerald's was superb and waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. Enjoyed our walks thru town. We Just love this Place.

We really enjoyed our brief (1 night) stay at Eagle River Inn. Fitzgerald's is a superb restaurant and was the best meal we had during out entire 4-day trip through the UP. We tried to call and make a reservation for dinner in advance but since they had a private party coming that night they said they couldn't take a reservation but would try to work us in. When we arrived they put our name in and told us they'd have a table for 2 in an hour. We settled into our room and walked the beach until it was time. As others have mentioned, the inn rooms are clean and nicely updated, but missing a few things (a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, hairdryer, closet or place to hang clothes, nightstands). This wasn't a big deal to us, but I would hope that over time the owners

The Eagle River Inn is a hidden Gem don't pass it up. Rooms are clean and very large with views of the lake. You can watch the sunrise and sunset from looking out your window not to mention watching the freighters going by. You can even have a campfire on the beach if you want

My wife and I spent 3 nights there with friends from Washington, DC. It sits on the shore of Lake Superior, with a great sandy beach and the sounds of the surf lulling you to sleep at night. It's a great beach for the kiddies, too. The rooms are very nicely done, but could use a few more items. Neither bed had end tables, so there were no table lamps to read by at night. Plus, the overhead track lights are very unpleasant and harsh. When we wanted music, we had to place the computer on the bed, as there was no room on the small table in the corner of the room when glassware, etc. was being used. There are no phones in the rooms which is no really big deal as we all had cell phones. But then Verizon service was interrupted for about 6 hours one afternoon, and there you were.

Such a lovely little hotel- right on the shores of Lake Superior. We fell asleep listening to the waves hitting the shoreline. It was fantastic! The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully renovated. The owners are two young men who have really turned around an older property and turned it into something very special. You will love the food in their restaurant also!

Two friends and myself stopped here in June on a motorcycle trip around the UP, this place was the highlight of the trip the food, atmosphere and the owners are just awesome. Can't wait to go back. The rooms we just redone and were super clean. The food (BBQ) was great and the bar had the largest beer list I have ever seen (4 or 5 pages of micro brews), they had a huge whiskey\wine\bourbon selection too. Oh and the view was incredible!!!!

My family had nice stay at this place. The room we had (#208) is away from the restaurant area had Queen size bed and a double. Everything was new, so it was nice. The day that we stayed it reached over 90 degrees so very hot and sticky. It was uncomfortable sleeping even with the fan on. But thats not the kind of temp they get up there, I was told. But the beach area right outside the window was great. Kids had good time. Also their Fritz burger was excellent! Kids liked their mac and cheese. Very nice service and really liked staying there.

Interesting little place run by a couple of brothers. Right on Lake Superior, 15 minutes from Copper harbor. Rooms are nice but rustic, (could use a women's touch). It's more location and ambiance. Really nice beach area. Phenomenal restaurant. A hidden gem.
