The hotel is old style, full of old English charm. Breakfast was pretty good, and the meal at the adjoining pub was good as well. My bed was way too soft, probably as old as the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We would also recommend that you avoid this room for the same reasons. On our second night we asked to be moved to a quieter room. We paid a premium price for the original room so we were very surprised that it was so noisy with people smoking right below our window, then noise from the bar. I didn't get to sleep until 2am because the staff were moving tables and chairs around and clearing up from the night before. If you want peace and quiet we were moved to a room in the annexe and I think that was room 23
