Every time we're in the Copper Country, we make a stop here for a cold beer and a good meal. The Mariner North never disappoints. The chowder and the french onion soup are awesome and the sandwiches are good too! A perfect stop after a good day of hiking or snowshoeing.

My brother who never travels, and I went on a U.P. tour and just stumbled onto this motel/hotel since the others were seriously overpriced and this one was not. Room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable and even the " non traveler " didn't complain which is unusual.. No problem here!! The restaurant had a good selection and...

Great food and decent prices in this rather remote part of the UP. Not real fast service but they were busy plus we didn't care since on a relaxed weekend vacation. Enjoyed having Lake Superior whitefish on a nice chibatta (?) bun. Great Northwoods ambiance plus plenty of TVs for those wanting to catch a game.

15 Years ago my husband and I stayed at Mariner North for our first wedding anniversary and chose to book our stay again for our 16th wedding anniversary. Oh Boy! Did we ever make a mistake! Here's why: 1. Front door to the lodging building was never locked and largely propped open; very loose security measures; anyone can walk right...

There weren't many options for dinner in Copper Harbor but were glad we found this restaurant. It was the only place still serving after 9pm on Friday night. The food was good and arrived the way we ordered it. My husband ordered his with changes from the menu and everything was perfect. The place was pretty busy but the service...

We had a room upstairs at the inn. The guy who checked us in, also checks out the customers at the restaurant was very annoyed about a pen missing. I wish they had smaller rooms available for cheaper prices. We had a 2 queen room with small table, futon couch, and small balcony. There is wifi, a refrigerator and an...

I had the Monkey Fist chicken sandwich. A bit disappointed. Sat at the bar and had a few beers with our meal. All and all a place that likely does well due to the lack of competition in Copper Harbor. Decor is fine, but they could use a tv behind the bar so you don't have to look over your...

It was a rainy day and we thought we would spend some time at the Mariner North having a few drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere is nice, although they could use a few t.v.s at the bar. We sat at the bar thinking we would get fast service. Not so. Our first server was friendly, but after she served us...

“We were in the "motel" (8 rooms) on the first floor in the back. Not much of a view, but didn't have to carry luggage up/down stairs. Am not sure if the back rooms on the 2nd floor can see the lake or not, but front rooms would be facing parking lot/road. (We really spent little time in the room, so this certainly was not an issue)”
