Calumet is a good home base for exploring the Keewenaw area. They did not require a deposit surprisingly. The building is over 100 years old and is still quite authentic. Much is original. We stayed in the Anglers Suite which included a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, dining area and living room-it is like an apartment. It is budget friendly at... More

This place is truly outstanding. We had dinner here twice. You can choose the dining room with white table clothe or you can stay in the pub for a more casual feel. The service is friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. We had lake trout the first night, one on a plank and the other grilled. They were each well prepares and... More

The Michigan House in Calumet, Michigan, is a remnant from the Copper Mining Glory Days. Originally a hotel and restaurant, it now exists primarily as a brew pub with an extended menu. The decor is eclectic and service acceptable. However, on the two occasions I have dined there, I've chosen the ribeye steak. On both occasions it was delivered as... More

We ordered the house chips with dip as an appetizer. These chips are incredible! My friends ordered burgers with homemade fries. I ordered... More

On the positive side, the Michigan House is located in the center of Calumet and the room we were in ("Above the Corner" I believe it was called) was very large, really a two room suite, with the character you look for in an old building. The rooms of the hotel, three in number, are above the restaurant, with the... More
