This appears to be the only affordable place on the island. Luckily it's right on the bus route, otherwise it's a bit out of the way. I'd definitely recommend getting a day bus pass to explore the island. The pancakes in the morning are great! Some staff were great! It's unfortunate that it isn't open over the winter, but I...

I've never stayed in a hostel before, so this was my first experience. I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent price and service, wonderful breakfast with pancakes, cereal, toast, fruit, oatmeal and hot coffee. The hostel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Bus service is available right in front of the hostel; safe, the doors are locked at...

Stayed here for one weekend night with my family. A great deal. Affordable. Clean. Spacious. Very accessible. Free breakfast. I highly recommend this over the expensive motels on the island. Staff was very friendly. Donnie does a great job. Robert P.

Clean, clean, clean - super friendly and helpful staff. Donnie, Jeremiah, Leah and Mike all went out of there way to make our group of 19 feel special and well taken care of. They had amazing recommendations to maximize our time on the island. I was with a Girl Scout group but will bring my family back here in the...

The hostel is well organised, locked at night for safety, clean with a big kitchen. Towels and bedding are included. There is a very small bathroom though, only 2 showers on the lower floor and it's not the most private arrangement. Wifi is really good and there's parking and a bus stop right outside.

Beautiful hostel with very comfortable rooms and common areas. We had fresh pancakes for breakfast every morning - big plus! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bus stop was right outside, buses were fairly frequent and they will take you anywhere on the island. Loved this place. We stayed there for 4 nights and did not want for...

Honestly I was a little apprehensive of staying in a "hostel," but we were able to book a private room and I couldn't have asked for a better stay! Room was a little small, which was fine considering we spent most of our time out and about. Private bathroom in the room was a bonus. Extremely clean and staff was...

I had a great time while staying here with a friend. She booked 6 months out and was able to secure one of the 5 private rooms. Although tiny, it served the purpose of providing clean and comfortable beds and space for suitcases. The staff is amazing. Friendly, hard working, knowledgeable and approachable. I can't say enough good things about...

In a 16 bed dorm but with loads of space. It's a but out of the way and you'll need either a car or bike or you do take the bus. Small island so it can be done in a day or two. Big benefit is the free breakfast with delicious pancakes

Lovely rustic setting; large yard; helpful staff. The women's dorm and bathroom were clean and spacious. The kitchen was also large and included several stoves and refrigerators. The bus that takes people to various places on the island stops right in front of the hostel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
World class beaches, biking trails, art galleries, and a variety of preservation lands are among the island's many attractions. Favorite destinations include the Aquinnah Clay Cliffs, Chappaquiddick Island, the Menemsha Fishing Village, and the Gingerbread houses of Oak Bluffs. Famous for its beauty and diverse geographical landscape, visitors to the Vineyard quickly become enchanted by "the land beyond the sea beyond the land." Centrally locate on the isle of Cape Cod, our hostel remains in the 1950's architectural style it was constructed in, as the country's first youth hostel, over four decades ago. This is in keeping with the quiet, traditional atmosphere on the island. Attractions include local crafts and galleries but the real magic of Cape Cod lies in it's relaxing ambience. The Island of Martha's Vineyard has long been a favorite destination for exploration and recreation. “Make sure you pay attention to the bus routes and times - they are EXACTLY on time and leave to/from the hostel only once an hour. Other routes from Edgartown to Oak Bluffs run more frequently. It works out fine if you plan ahead!”
