My friends and I met up for a weekend away to catch up and enjoy each others company for a few days at this lovely, quaint hotel in Oak Bluffs. This hotel had fantastic reviews and it lives up to each and every one! From check in to check out it was a good experience. The front desk women who checked us in were very friendly & smiling, pleasant and checked us in quickly so we could get settled into our rooms so we could start our vacation! The evening front desk manager, helped us with restaurant reservations and got us acquainted with local tour companies, places to go and things to do. My room was petite in size, but I knew this going in (the property is in one of the Victorian era neighborhoods in Oak Bluffs), it was immaculately clean and had everything you would need for a pleasant stay. The hotel is just one block from the beach and about a 5-6 minute walk to the main street where all the shops and restaurants are located. The hotel offers a BIG continental breakfast that is included in your stay and served in a dining room where we met other guests travelling from all over the world. On Friday nights the hotel has a wine and cheese porch party with live music! This was another opportunity for us to meet other guests. The hotel has a sign out front that says "Enter as strangers, leave as friends" and boy, that was the truth! I would highly recommend a stay at the Pequot Hotel. My friends and I have already decided that we will be returning for a future stay!
Dear world_scout_88, Thank you so much for choosing the Pequot for your Autumn getaway and thank you for the kind words! I'm thrilled that you and your friends so enjoyed your visit and that your intention is to return. Wonderful news! We will open for the 2019 season on May 3rd and begin taking reservations for the 2019 season on or about January, 2nd, 2019 and will certainly look forward to hearing from you. Until then, My very warmest regards, Lisa
Stayed here for a week, great place, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, offering plenty of good options for the days out or in. My family are from the UK so all the suggestions for things to do were very gratefully accepted and we never had anything but a wonderful time. The rooms were compact, but in a building of this heritage that was to be expected, and were very comfortable. Rooms were valeted daily and were clean and smart, the maid service was helpful and efficient. Breakfast was the perfect start to the day, and set us up for the days adventures. Tasty home cooked food, I just love American breakfasts. The hotel is not on the seafront, but is conveniently situated a few yards down a quaint side street, just a short walk from the beach and is also very handy for the ferries to the mainland. We had high expectations of MArthas Vineyard, our stay at the Pequot ensured those expectations were satisfied.
I spent 4 days at the Pequot, the first week of October. My room was basic but homey, the staff was wonderful and very informative. The continental breakfast was outstanding. I was directed to several very good restaurants by the front desk staff. I can't say enough for their kindness and patience. I also was able to book a tour of the island through the front desk staff. I highly recommend the Pequot Hotel for an interesting and fun getaway.
This hotel website implies that they are on the beach. Don't be fooled, they are not. Our first room on the bottom floor smelled of mold. The staff said it was not mold. They moved us to a second floor room, that also smelled, but was better. Rooms are very basic, but not much of an issue since you will spend most of your time out and about. Some desk staff are somewhat rude, and unhelpful. We left some clothes, took us 4 phone calls and several days before they found them. The breakfast, and staff were great.
Dear Steve Z, "The Pequot Hotel is wonderfully situated one block from the beach..." That is the first line on our website under the Location tab. I'm sorry you missed it therefore had false expectations as to our proximity to the beach. It wouldn't benefit anyone, us included, to be anything less than transparent about not only location but all descriptions of our historic property. Again, sorry your expectations were not met, our greatest wish is for all of our guests to be happy! Glad to know you enjoyed our breakfast offerings though! I was surprised to read your level of dissatisfaction given the fact that once you were moved from the first floor room (as you recall, you had requested the first floor) your wife thanked me, told me you were both satisfied and gave me a hug! After that, it seemed to me that you were enjoying your stay and your bike-rides around the Island. I recall seeing a lot of smiles from you both signaling to me that all was well. Again, I was more than surprised to read your review. I know that your wife's belongings made their way back to her. Although you choose to make 4 phone calls, I can assure you her things were on our radar after call number 1. I took them to the UPS store personally and followed up with her via email. I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your vacation, and that you are both doing well. Kind regards, Lisa
We've stayed several times at the Pequot Hotel for the three day Columbus Day weekend. The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Oak Bluffs ferry and same to town. MV is a wonderful place to visit at the end of the summer season, with smaller crowds and end of season sales. Most places close this weekend. The staff is great, the facility is neat and clean, fits in with the quaint surrounding neighborhood and the breakfast is fine. We'll be back again.

My husband and I walked it. Just get off the ferry, turn left toward the beach and the park area(gazebo) walk along the beach until you you see Pequot avenue about a 5 to 10 min walk and take a left on Pequot. The hotel is on your right with a large porch and rockers. If you go please tell them Jan from CT referred you. Have a great trip. We loved it.
