We stayed here for one night on a getaway from Boston. A little bit of a splurge for us price-wise, but good value for quality of property. Hosts were friendly, helpful but unobtrusive. We stayed in the Sturbridge room which was spacious, clean, and lovely. High four poster bed; there was a step stool in the corner if needed, but...

Dear Ginger, We're delighted that you enjoyed the breakfast, the room and the toasty warmth given off by our German high tech pellet boiler, fueled by pellets, delivered 5 tons at a time from New England Wood Pellet in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. We're proud to be using renewables and shortening our carbon footprint to about 25 miles. All 50 radiators...

We had a very comfortable, clean room in this historic home. Bed was super comfortable and breakfast was fabulous! The setting is lovely. It was a beautiful fall day and this home is like a picture postcard. The owners are lovely people and very helpful with suggestions of local sights and restaurants.

My girlfriend and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and it was just wonderful. I was in town visiting friends in the valley and was looking for a traditional B&B and came across this gem in my search. It was absolutely beautiful, well kept with period decor. Breakfast was quite good and substantial. The proprietors were very kind and welcoming...

Thanks so much for your comprehensive comments. You checked off all the boxes! It is so rewarding when guests notice the little things that we strive for because we think they make up a pleasant stay. We hope you'll return in the winter when we offer fireside breakfast. Best wishes in all you do, Joan and Steve

We were visiting a friend in nearby Athol, MA and we stayed here for two nights. The location was a large old home that has been well maintained. It is easy to find, our room was large and well equipped, and the hostess couldn't have been better. The breakfasts were exceptional. If in the area, we'd certainly stay there again.

Hi Peter, We tried to respond earlier but because we mentioned the event that you came to the area for, our response was rejected as too commercial. Oh well. We enjoyed hosting you both and appreciate your kind comments. Although we do allow one night stays, two nights really give folks a chance to settle in and experience what we...

My husband and I recently stayed several nights at the Centennial House and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was spacious and quiet , and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've spent the night in. The hosts, Joan and Steve, were very accommodating and helpful. We had to be out very early on a couple of mornings...

Thanks so much, Cattlegirl! We had a wonderful weekend with the hundreds of paddlers who came to Northfield for the US Canoe Association's National Canoe and Kayak Championships last weekend. You were all so fit and energetic at 5 a.m. we're happy that you liked the breakfast, made a few days when we were not quite awake! The Connecticut River...

Lovely B&B and congenial hosts. The breakfasts were amazing. We had great views over the countryside and there's a lovely big garden to relax in. There are two dogs but other than a greeting when we arrived they were out of the way. Beds were fine and everywhere was clean. Some steeps stairs but there were alternative routes to avoid...

Thank you, Simon! We really appreciate your taking the time to tell others about your visit to Centennial House B&B. We do take pride in our breakfasts, which some have called "Wholesome yet inventive." With the garden, we have lots of options for all kinds of tastes in the summer and early fall. Good thing too that we have three...

We booked this place in lieu of staying at a hotel in a nearby town and were very happy with everything. The room was perfect, the owners were hospitable and breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend this B&B.

Thank you, Beth! We so enjoyed meeting you, your wonderful mom and beautiful daughter. Next time we hope you'll bring the guys! Your family really added to our enjoyment of the weekend--didn't you get the sense that everyone was very special?--so we're doubly thrilled that all of you had a good time, enjoyed the property in between family outings to...

I booked this B&B rather spontaneously as it was near an event my daughter was participating in. The town of Northfield is quaint and charming and the Centennial is equally as lovely and charming. I was greeted warmly from the Joan the owner and the dogs lenny and buddy. The room was spacious, clean and nicely appointed. The gazebo view...

Dear M, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us after what was a quick trip to the area. We enjoyed meeting you and spending a little time over breakfast getting acquainted. This is simply a beautiful bed and breakfast! It is super clean and very comfortable. Joan and Steve's eye for detail is everywhere. Joan's breakfasts are mouth watering and filling. The location of this Inn was perfect for our day trips to Vermont and New Hampshire. Look forward to returning next year!

Thanks, Kristine! We loved having you visit from Joan's home state and enjoyed your company and the opportunity to hear about your work and share wonderful memories about that special place.
