The spacious and immaculate rooms earn high praise, though a few guests have noted privacy concerns. Our 6 night stay was through Luxury Escapes. I'll leave my comments about Luxury Escapes till the end as all we can say about the Aksari is that this was the best section of our 3 week Bali holiday, taking in 2 other areas in Bali.
The jungle all around, the cooler air the sound of the river below our room (923) was just magical. Every member of the staff from the maintenance workers, restaurant and check in staff, never failed to greet us everyday with a warm, genuine smile. We must give special mention to Erika , Lovi, Adi, Awan, and Leni (Svarta Spa). These beautiful souls really made our stay so personal and unfortgettable.
There were more but names escape us.
We took a shuttle into Ubud (45min drive) on one of the days... and couldn't wait to get back into the cooler mountain air! The hotel offers 4 free shuttle rides a day.
The beds and pillows were fantastic the rooms were spotless and all through the resort the premises were perfumed with native plant scents.

When I had a bad tummy after the trip into Ubud the chef cooked me bubur ayam for a few meals which helped me recover very quickly.

The only disappointment was from the Luxury Escapes deal where it was not stated anywhere that we could only order from a very restricted menu for the whole 6 days. We couldn't see that we would come all the way to Bali to have bangers and mash and chicken burgers as part of our limited selection!
Thank you to all at the Aksari we will surely be back!

We truly cannot imagine having a great Bali experience without going to Aksari Resort in Ubud. Every person at Aksari went above and beyond to make our honeymoon unforgettable!

We booked the airport pickup with Aksari a week in advance. Komang picked us up in a very clean and maintained vehicle. All our luggage fit perfectly and we were comfortable during the 2 1/2 hour ride from Denpasar Airport to Aksari in Ubud.

Komang even made a stop for us to grab some lunch at this delicious local restaurant and waited for us without making us feel rushed.

Once we arrived to Aksari, we were welcomed with some delicious refreshments while they processed our paperwork. Then, we were taken to our room that had a beautiful view of the infinity pool and jacuzzi. The morning views are beautiful and the nature sounds are so relaxing.

Ema, one of the managers, went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was delightful. She helped us book taxis to get from the the resort to Downtown Ubud. Komang and Wayan were great drivers. Quick disclaimer, Aksari is about 30 to 40 minutes away from the center of Ubud, so taxis are required to get to the cultural hub. Please factor in taxis or Grab rides into your budget.

Breakfast at Aksari is delicious. They have a wide variety of options ranging from traditional eggs and potatoes to Bali breakfasts to Korean or Turkish breakfast options as well. The lattes and fresh fruit juices are yummy too!

Beyond that, Septiari and Bintang were super kind and provided great service during breakfast and dinner time. They made sure that we always had what we ordered and that were taken well care of.

Different staff members also checked in on us by asking if we needed help scheduling any activities to explore or relax. Anu Dinah always checked in on us and kept us updated of any events that were taking place at the resort, such as cocktail classes or cultural nights with dancing and music.

Erica also checked in with us and even helped us get an upgrade to the beautiful Villa on the last night of our stay, so we could enjoy a private pool and jacuzzi. This was amazing!

We also enjoyed yoga in the mornings and traditional Balinese music during dinner time.

Overall, we had a magnificent time at Aksari Resort and recommend everyone to go there if they travel to Bali! We can't wait to go back!

5/5 100% Reccomended. WOW. I have never been so far away from Chicago and dreamed to end up somewhere so beautiful at such a last minute plan that I put together 3 weeks before even deciding to come to Bali.

Arriving, me and my wife showed up at 2-3 ish am and they were still so kindly to check us in and escort us to our villa. The included breakfast is absolutely delicious with juices and amazing cappachinos. From traditional american style eggs and bacon to bali traditional breakfast rice and eggs or noodles. Dont forget to book a floating breakfast either at your private pool or any of the main pools!

The service was outstanding, everyone was so kind and respectful and make you feel so warm. They always remember what your name is and where you are staying and will always ask what else they can do to make your stay better or too clean the room when you leave for activities.

Despite being american cost, the not included Japanese and Traditional style restaurants (2 total) were delicious and worth the money. We ordered hookah on the side and drinks were always spot on. The extra massage service we booked was on the pricier side, but oh my god at two and a half hours of the romantic jungle massage was the best I ever had. Body scrub, oils of different smells you can choose from and a custom flower decorated spa bath was so relaxing.

There are many spots to take amazing photos so explore everywhere! Despite being high in the jungle hills and having no guard rails around the restaurants and yoga/private space you still feel safe. If you are bringing kids it wouldn’t be the best idea they could easily walk off a higher part and why bring a kid! Enjoy this spot romantically to get the most out of it!

All my tour guides for activities were able to pick me up easy here and being at the center of Ubud, location is great to a lot of areas.

Our private villa with pool was stunning, clean and large and was the coolest spot I’ve stayed at. We only had one issue with our toilet leaking a bit of water but everything else was great. The first night they gave us fresh little cookies which was a nice greeting. The room was always spotless and tended attentively.

Overall, check in to see the amazing entryway that overlooks the villas and infinity pools to check out with farewell from all staff was just something that made it that much more special. I would recommend Aksari Ubud to anyone that is looking for a Jungle escape that makes you fee special and comfortable from coming from as far away as the US. Would love to return someday!

Beautiful resort and scenery! Staff were very friendly! We came with our large family with several kids. They didn’t have face cloths or conditioner in the bathrooms and the floors were very slippery. Two members in two separate rooms had slips and falls on the tiles after showering. The food menu was massive and given the resorts smaller size and more remote location I think it would be very hard to ensure everything is fresh given the range (25 options for breakfast alone). Two family members had mild bouts of Bali belly and only ate at the restaurant. The restaurant and drink prices are very expensive even by Australia standards. The location although stunning is quite remote and is 45-60mins drive on windy steep roads from the town of Ubud and most of the day tours. I think it would be well suited to couples and those looking for a remote retreat. The staff were the highlight for us. Our guide Sugita was amazing, he took us for two days on some amazing site-seeing and tours and accommodated all the needs of our large family and made our stay worthwhile!

Rooms are lovely and large, very clean although our bath didn’t work as the water kept draining out of it and the taps didn’t work water was either boiling or cold.
We had a luxury escape and thank goodness as dinner or lunch was included, cocktails $23 and a bing tan $12.50, I just can’t understand why they are so expensive it’s the same beer as anywhere else. We usually stay in Nusa Dua with the kids where a beer is expensive to but this is extreme. We used GoJek to bring tonic water to our room as a can was $8!
Fabulous service from Lovi and Juni who was working right up until the birth of her second child. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t bother with Ubud again.

The staff are friendly and the surrounding scenery is great! I ordered a variety of breakfasts during my 3 days and 2 nights stay, and they were all delicious!! It's not a buffet, but they give you a meal, fruit, bread, juice, and coffee, so you can eat until you're full! The swimming pool was clean and spacious, so it was comfortable to use, and there weren't many people, so I used it comfortably! The shower filter didn't get dirty at all during the three days I used it, and I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud! :)

The hotel is really very nice.
We had the private pool villa Riverview. The extra charge for the Riverview is not worth it at all, as you cannot see the river.
In addition, the jungle has been cleared on the other side and unfortunately you look out onto a concrete complex, not very nice.
It is very remote, so you have to take a taxi to Ubud, unless you want to eat lunch and dinner in the hotel.
Approx. 40 minute drive, there is a taxi driver nearby who charges 1/3 of the transfer price than the Aksari itself.
The food in the hotel itself is very tasty, but unfortunately also disproportionately expensive.

I am writing my review while still in Aksari because I couldn’t wait to return home to give my review! This resort is heaven on earth with angels (or you may call them staff) working to make you happy.
We are in villa 805 (room with private pool).
I loved the privacy this room offers, especially because when we were walking to our room, we were able to see through bushes the private pools of other rooms.
Room 805 is 200% private and no one can see anything unless they jump off the high vegetation fence.
Breakfast is amazing. My husband loved the feta cheese and I loved the Italian breakfast. Both are superb!
I will not talk about the public pool because you probably have seen the photos and saw how amazing it is.
Everyone in the resort will probably come to introduce himself/herself the moment you step in, and will always make you feel that you are the only guest in the hotel!
They will know your name and your preferences in everything.
My advice to anyone who is thinking about Bali/Ubud is to pack (and bring a mosquito repellent), book room 805, and fly with no hesitation.
I don’t want to leave! And already planning my visit for next year to Aksari.
Tips: book a tour with Made (pronounced Maddi/a private driver working in the resort) who will give you the best tours of Ubud. We did 1 day tour, and we want to go tomorrow for another tour!
Made will accommodate everything based on your preferences.
BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT, and expect to see some wild animals and insects. Nothing harmful though.

We are staying at the Aksari at the moment, we are here for 5 days after 5 days in Sanur.
Let me start with the pros
Wonderful attentive service from all staff, they are a credit to The resort.
Nice big rooms.
Very pretty pool area, with a couple of pools to choose from.
Quiet, slightly isolated location, can be a pro or a con.
Fantastic Spa, one of the best massages I have had and we travel a lot to many 5 star resorts.
Food is presented beautifully and is really good.
The cons
The view from the pool overlooks a building site, not the resorts fault, but not great. Hopefully this will be better when the building is finished.
On our first day we had a bottle of Rose wine , very delicious, but from then on they have had no Rose wine at all. A problem as that's our preference, we are not red or white wine drinkers . I think a 5star resort should have at least one bottle of Rose to choose from ( none of the white sparkling wine we had instead of the Rose now !)
We had a luxury escapes deal, very good but the menu choices for dinner are the same every day and choices are limited and we are struggling now, I have ordered off the al la carte a few times for extra charge as I was finding the luxury escapes menu limiting.
Our first room had a very strong damp odour, so much so I felt nauseated and couldn't sleep the first night. This was though dealt with very quickly by the reservation team at the hotel and we were given a much better room with a much better view. We would have been extremely disappointed if we has stayed in the first room , not only the smell but also the location next to workman. But as I said this was rectified very quickly.
In summing up it is a lovely hotel , with amazing staff, just a few niggles that need improvement. We have abd are enjoying our stay.

I recently stayed at the Aksari Resort in Ubud, and unfortunately other than the wonderful views, my experience left a lot to be desired. Here are some of the major issues I encountered during my stay:

Lack of Blackout Curtains: One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the absence of blackout curtains in the room. This meant that the room was flooded with light as early as 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep in and enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Construction Noises: The constant construction noises throughout the day were extremely disruptive and made it challenging to relax in the room or even enjoy some peace and quiet.

Water Seepage and sewage smell: The bathroom was plagued by a water seepage issue, where water from the shower room would seep into the toilet area. This not only made the bathroom uncomfortable but also created safety hazards. The room also has a sewage smell every time we first enter the room.

Steep Slope: The resort's layout included a steep slope, which made it difficult to navigate, especially for guests with mobility issues.

Restrictive Jacuzzi Hours: The limited hours for jacuzzi usage from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. were inconvenient and did not cater to guests who might want to use this facility outside of those hours for relaxation.

Slow Response to Guest Requests: Throughout our stay, we experienced frustrating delays in the response to our requests for assistance and additional amenities. It often took an unreasonably long time for the staff to address our needs, leaving us feeling disappointed and inconvenienced. This sluggish service greatly detracted from the overall guest experience at the Aksari Resort in Ubud.

Lack of Privacy & Construction Noises at the Spa: Even when attempting to relax at the spa, the peace and serenity were shattered by the ongoing construction noises nearby. Privacy was another major issue. The noise by other guests could be heard easily within the room, as it was only separated by curtain making it hard to enjoy any semblance of tranquility. This detracted from the overall spa experience. For the price that we paid, we have enjoyed much nicer massages.

In summary, my stay at Aksari Resort in Ubud was marred by a multitude of issues that significantly impacted my ability to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes necessary improvements to enhance the guest experience in the future.
