This hidden away treasure is worth checking out. We visited two days prior to Xmas, and had a wonderful experience. The room was quaint, the property old but well maintained. The food & wine choices were wonderful and service impeccable. The breakfast next morning was extraordinary in it's choices - with freshly made pastries, along with eggs or fruit compote's.......

Pro: Dinner was excellent although I needed a flashlight to see my food. A superb meal should be appreciated by all your senses. Pool was nice. Con:As an inn in "the Berkshires" this leaves much to be desired- Too far from the action Rooms extremely variable, main house very outdated and guest house still being updated. Breakfast was good but...

As a small family run business, we work hard to ensure that your stay and meals are pleasant, so we apologize for anything that made you feel otherwise. It sounds like we weren't exactly your cup of tea, Rena. You must not have known about the location and historic nature of the property. It's true we are away from the...

My husband and I purchased a Travelzoo deal for a two-night stay at the Old Inn on the Green. We didn't know anything about the inn--or the Berkshires for that matter—prior to our stay, but all aspects exceeded our expectations! THE INN: We stayed in room 204 in the Thayer house. It was a corner room on the second floor--tons...

After a six week business trip on the West Coast, I returned to my home in Vermont and surprised my husband with a mini-trip to the Old Inn on the Green. After a beautiful drive we arrived at the Inn and were greeted warmly by owner Peter, who showed us to our room. It was complete with a super comfortable...

Thank you for taking the time to write so positively about your experience --Peter and I are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The local café/bakery (called The Southfield Store) you mentioned, is ours as well. That's where all of our breakfast pastries, granola and a host of other items are made. We try not to send anyone home hungry!...

We stayed here for two days while on a trip to see friends and family in NY and MA. It was a nice respite for the two of us between busy weekends. The Inn is out of town yet close to many delightful towns and the hills of the Western Berkshires which made it convenient and quiet. We visited several...

Wow, sounds like you made the most of your time while you were in the Berkshires. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay here at the inn, including our breakfast. Along with everything else, we're pretty particular about the coffee and tea that we serve, so it's always gratifying when someone notices! For coffee, we use Barrington Roasters, a...

I can't say enough about this beautiful, quaint, rustic treasure of a B&B. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The FOOD was amazing, from the salmon to the Chicken, to the homemade granola and fruit to the coffee. Our room was spacious yet cozy. Very comfortable. We had a view of the pool which made me wish it were...

This charming inn is a real gem! We had a large room with a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace in the room. Downstairs in the restaurant, we had daily breakfast with yogurt, fresh fruit and a basket of hot homemade muffins, scones, tarts on the table. We had dinner there......gourmet dining in this warm, welcoming dining room; lit only with...

We also found The Old Inn On The Green through Travelzoo. We have been wanting to go the Berkshires to see the Norman Rockwell Museum and this provided a perfect opportunity as Stockbridge is about 25 minutes away from New Marlborough. We booked the last available room, #206 in the Thayer House. It is the 'pet friendly" room but there...

I have stayed here twice, and both times have been wonderful. This place is a classic, charming New England inn, very comfortable, with many rooms having luxurious touches (claw-foot tubs, jacuzzis, wood-burning fireplaces) but not the kind of tacky or insensitive modernizations you so often see in "historic" hotels and other types of accommodation in the region.
