Ellen, Mike and Dave customized our breakfasts to accommodate several food allergies, and everything they served us was amazing. Our favorite treat was the Belgian peach pancake - OMG delicious!! There is only one thing we would have changed during our stay, and that was the mattress in our room. We both ended up with more aches and pains after...

We are glad we were able to accommodate your dietary restrictions, and it's never a problem for us. And you are absolutely correct about the bed in your room! I just wish you had mentioned it to us when you were here so we could have fixed the problem ASAP. It turns out that there was a problem with the...

My husband and I stayed at Birchwood for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the inn. The staff are quite gracious and allow you as much privacy as you like. The common areas are very inviting, as is the garden and front porch. The breakfasts were fabulous - all the baked goods were made at the inn, and there was...

The Birchwood Inn team is delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We wish you had told us about the air conditioner, and we would have been happy to try to fix it or replace it during your stay. We aren't happy when our guests aren't completely happy!

Just celebrated our 50th Anniversary at the Birchwood Inn. We have stayed in Lenox for years and finally found a place where the people, food and accommodations are extraordinary. We couldn't find a more magical place in the Berkshires and thanks to Ellen and Mike we will never forget our stay.

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Birchwood Inn. Our room was very quaint, comfortable and extremely clean. The comforts of home in the bath were a nice addition. We enjoyed chatting with Ellen and Mike and we felt like family. During our stay we had afternoon tea, cobbler and lemon squares. Breakfast was delicious - different every day. I...

Great place to get away and to still be walkable to Lenox. Fabulous to bring your dog along or just for a romantic visit for two. The breakfast is gourmet cooked and the rooms are elegant old New England. We would stay here again and again. Loved the care taken by the innkeepers and the ambience.

I spent a wonderful April weekend at the Birchwood Inn - The inn is historic and comfortable. Ellen and Mike make you feel at home and Charley and Quinn adopt you as part of the family. When traveling I am usually a hotel person - but the Birchwood Inn and staff leave you no alternative but to relax - Ellen...

I just read the review by Build NYC. Having stayed at the Birchwood many times each summer for the past decade plus, mostly in the Post Room when it is available, I cannot disagree more with that review. My wife and I have never experienced anything but clean, insect-free rooms, excellent customer service from very accommodating innkeepers, and the best...

This "hotel" was more like a college dorm room after a frat party. I checked in and checked out five minutes later. As I stood in the room using my phone to search for alternate lodging I was afraid to sit on the bed for fear of being bitten by something. The Assistant inn keeper named Mike, was shocked to...

As the saying goes, you can't please everyone, but at Birchwood Inn we do try. We really do! We are proud to be a Select Registry property, the highest honor bed and breakfasts and inns can achieve. We are inspected on a regular basis by an independent company to ensure that our property is up to very high standards. Some...

It's finally time to get out there and get back to the Berkshires, to the Birchwood Inn in Lenox, MA. What a delight to be on the porch of the Birchwood, watching the leaves unfurl in front of us, or at least that's how Nature and Spring looked last weekend. Over the years Ellen Chenaux, innkeeper extraordinaire, has made our...

JR was one of my first guests 16 years ago, when she declared herself Porch Supervisor. Birchwood's spacious porch is her favorite spot, from the mornings with the New York Times to the evenings over a glass of wine. Another 10 star guest!
