During the last weekend in June my niece was getting married at Castle Hill Estate at Crane's Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Although only about an hour from our home, my husband and I decided to make a weekend of it and join with extended family for a two night stay at the local bed and breakfast, Kaede in Ipswich center....

My husband and I were at Kaede recently for one night. We usually stay in hotels, not B &B's, but we had read such great things about Jason, Makiko and Asuka......and they were all true. They are very welcoming and kind and their home is very comfortable. The highlights for us were the jaccuzzi tub (my husband) and the traditional...

Jason, Makiko and Auska were completely delightful as hosts especially on Christmas Day! Room was beautiful, everything clean and welcoming. The breakfast stunningly yummy with many alternatives including healthy Japanese breakfast. All around great place.

Just within short walking distance of town, this Inn was perfect for our romantic anniversary overnight. Hosts Jason and Mikiko were incredibly and warmly welcoming. They made our stay perfect with every detail, from our accommodations to the amazing Japanese breakfast, and an impromptu fire under a full moon. We had a great time and look forward to going back!

We stayed at Kaede B&B one night recently and found it very appealing. The Inn is very well located, just a block outside the main business district, so anything you require is nearby. Many restaurants are in the area, and a plethora of other activities beckon. Jason went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and...

My husband & I had were invited to a wedding in Ipswich. Not wanting to drive nearly two hours home at midnight, we decided to make a mini getaway for ourselves. Kaede was great. Jason & Makiko are lovely hosts. The Japanese art in the house is beautiful. We stayed in the Willow room in the back of the house....

We stayed at KAEDE for two nights in July. It's a beautiful antique house filled with wonderful Japanese art. Our room (Cypress) was a bit small but nicely appointed. The newly renovated bathroom was spacious. Excellent location - quiet but close to town. Wonderful breakfast with the option of a traditional Japanese breakfast. Friendly and helpful owners. Good value -...

I had a two day job in Ipswich over my birthday weekend and decided to make it a working vacation. Since I don't live too far away, i wanted something other than a traditional colonial B&B. I chose Kaede because I liked the idea of a Japanese breakfast served on home made pottery. The hosts were very kind and accommodating....

My family had a house in Ipswich my entire childhood, so I write this review knowing the town and its activities very well. My fiancé brought me here for my birthday for 2 nights in late October 2012. We stayed in a room on the backed the house with an ensuite bathroom. Room was VERY CLEAN and nicely decorated. Not...

We were in Ipswich to visit a collaborator at New England Biolabs who recommended Kaede B&B from personal experience. I was staying in UME (pictured) and my colleague in TAKE, both on the front of the building. We found both rooms to be spacious and peaceful, excepting the first night when seemingly every snow plough and gritter in Massachusetts decided...

I have not written any responses to reviews in the almost 7 years we have been running KAEDE, but believe me, we do read and value what you have to say about KAEDE, Ipswich, and the service you received during your stay with us. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has commented regarding their...

“We stayed in Kashi, a two room suite, and liked it very much. The second room is a small living room with a futon sofa. There is a door from that room into, I believe, the house's kitchen, so sound does come through (dishes and low sound of voices). I am a very light sleeper, but was not at all bothered/wakened by the sounds, which were only there in the morning and early evening. I only mention it in case a very sound sensitive person were going to be sleeping in that second room, although I'd recommend earplugs to anyone who's a light sleeper.”
