Poetry Ridge B&B is beautifully furnished with dark heavy antiques, hangings, drapery, gorgeous flocked wallpaper and either beautifully redone wood floors or soft carpeting that muted your footsteps. There were plenty of windows and light so it is not at all dreary. We stayed in the Frederick Goddard Tuckerman suite (named for a local poet, my wife won the night's...

Poetry Ridge B & B occupies the property that was my boyhood home in the late 50's and 60's and remained in the family until it was sold to the Sorensen's about 8 yeas ago. My visit last week was like going home again. Errol and Mary have done an amazing job in returning the home and property to its...

My family and I spent one night at Poetry Ridge during a road trip around New England and it was wonderful. Mary; the Inn Keeper was so welcoming upon arrival. She showed us round our rooms and guest common areas, helped us book a taxi to dinner and arranged out breakfast for the following morning. My sisters and I stayed...

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend escape at Poetry Ridge B&B. The location is absolutely beautiful! From the common areas to the guest rooms to the grounds, comfort and conversation pieces surround you. There is plenty to do in the area as well. The best part of our stay were our hosts, Errol and Mary Sorenson. They are welcoming...

We were so grateful to be able to locate an inn on such short notice that would accept a one night stay. We were traveling to Western Mass to view several possible wedding venues for my newly engaged daughter. From the time we booked our room throughout our short stay, Errol, our host, was kind and friendly. He was eager...

A friend of mine and I stayed at Poetry Ridge on a recent golfing trip. We were looking for something a step above the poor selection of Day's Inns, etc. around Greenfield. The approach to Poetry Ridge is up a long driveway. It was a bit of a dreary afternoon and my friend mentioned the place looked like it was...

We took my two nephews, ages 10 and 11, out to Greenfield to search for a Christmas tree in early December 2011 and chose to stay overnight. After looking at many places to stay we settled on Poetry Ridge. We thought we might sneak a "hike" in as well, and there were paths off of the property that looked our...

Erroll and Mary - the innkeepers - are restoring this centruy old vacation home to its former splendor. They are very cordial and engaging hosts who make every effort to meet their guests' needs. We stayed in the Whittier Room which has a spectacular view of the Connecticut River valley. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The beds are...

I am writing as the 2nd sister from 4 sisters on a annual weekend getaway. Poetry Ridge B&B affords us a comfortable room, a balcony to enjoy wine and cheese with a wonderful view to catch up with each other's lives before we venture out and explore the area. Errol and Mary are wonderful hosts. Always welcoming and courteous and...

Poetry Ridge is a beautiful summer home built in 1910. Staying at Poetry Ridge is like a trip back in time. The rooms have the ambiance of a pleasant bygone era. Errol and Mary, the proprietors are charming and friendly. They make your stay feel like your visiting family or friends. Mary prepares the breakfasts which are delicious and they...

“Apparently there are one or two rooms with balconies which other travelers seem to have recommended; the F.G. Tuckerman Suite was large enough to sleep 2 adults in bed; 1 adult/child on day bed and had plenty of windows and a large patio, although it was locked in winter. I would guess every room has its own unique charm.”
