This is a beautiful historic inn. The accommodations are lovely and there is attention to detail throughout. Staff is helpful and not overbearing. There is a communal crossword puzzle in the lobby that is fun to do.

We love staying at the Deerfield Inn, not just for its comfort and hospitality, but also for its lovely location and historical setting. No matter the season, the Inn's restaurant provides local and appetizing dishes, and seems to be a popular spot for both locals as well as out-of-Townes.

I enjoyed everything about staying at the Inn. Everyone was friendly and informative...the food was delicious, my room was lovely and I would come again! I was visiting my granddaughter at Deerfield Academy. We had lunch together on Saturday and I had a light supper on Saturday evening.

My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at the Inn 27 years ago. We have been in and out of the inn for a meal over the years, mostly for lunch. A gift certificate motivated our return as overnight guests. We appreciated the cleanliness of our bathroom and the hot water (often problematic in hotels). We found the...

Upon arrival we were greeted by staff and told all the tourist attractions. The Inn was very clean and cozy and the beds were very comfortable. All the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was a little pricey but well worth it. I can't wait to come back!

This little inn is a delight. The fireplace burning with real wood in the lobby was a wonderful welcome, and the food for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. The room was updated for an old inn like this with lots of room and great mattresses. All in all, a great surprise. Check it out!

Our room was exceptionally lovely. Our only issue was lack of handicap accessibility from the annex to the main building. We brought this to the attention of the management and they not only promised to address it, but gave us a discount on our bill to compensate us for our inconvenience. The innkeeper himself took the time to speak with...

We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Our room was huge, clean and well-appointed. The double shower in the large bathroom was a real surprise and treat. Afternoon tea was such an unexpected delight. We had friends come to join us for dinner at Champney's and the four of us had such a good time that we forgot about the...

The room was nice, but on the small side. Hostesses, innkeeper were pleasant and accommodating. We asked for, and received a late check-out time which made for a relaxing and leisurely departure. The large swivel puzzle and roaring fires were a delight that made a mid-winter stay all that much more enjoyable.

This is what we call a "park yourself" place. Park the car and not get back in until time to leave. Here there is a lovely historic area to explore on foot and a warm welcoming and comfortable atmosphere inside to just sit and read, work on a puzzle, knit, or whatever you like to do,

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Deerfield Inn first opened in July 1884 while both a drought and grasshoppers were plaguing the village. The disasters went, but the guests stayed for "the atmosphere and charm of early days, with modern comfort and convenience" with breakfast starting at 30¢ and a room with running water from $1.50. Today we have 24 comfortable and pleasing guestrooms and farm-to-fork Champney's Restaurant & Tavern. We source locally, make our own infusions, support area microbrewers, and in our 131st year we remain the centerpiece of Old Deerfield, a National Historic Landmark, and a Select Registry Property. ... more   less
