I don't usually book Marriott hotels, but this one offered a good off season rate for a quick getaway to Salem. The hotel is about 7 miles from Salem, but it ends up being about a 20 minute drive with traffic. Check in was easy and the staff was very helpful. There is a small convenience store that is open 24/7. Because of COVID breakfast is a bag and go set up which included muffins, fruit, yogurt and juice. The room was exactly as pictured, but when we got in it is smaller than what it appears in the picture. But it is still roomie. I really wanted to use the fire place but it was too warm and you have buy a special fake wood log to use ($7) which prevents too much mess for the housekeepers. The kitchen was great. We had a full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, sink and microwave. Dishes, pots, pans, flatware, etc were provided. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. It was clean. I have only a few complaints - the towels are laughably small and not really bath towels. The second is that the room with the toilet and shower is very tight. It wasn't a problem for us, but I could see how the twisting of getting the toilet paper and the location of the door to the toilet might be uncomfortable for some. A third complaint is the thin walls/ceiling. We were on the ground floor and the person above us was walking around and we could hear it, like it was in our space. And the person was still walking around at 2 am! And lastly, we were in a back unit and we could hear the traffic from the highway. MA has a curfew at the moment so after 10 pm the traffic died down so it didn't keep us awake. All and all, it was a good stay. The staff were very nice so that made it a better stay.…
Very friendly and competent front desk staff. Breakfast was included- but keep in mind that the buffet is lost to the "new normal". Coffee only available in the room. The room was clean and well-equipped with refrig, microwave, etc.
Cozy clean room with a kitchenette and fireplace and close to everything. I enjoyed it very much and had great time. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The property and it's surroundings were clean and well kept. I'll definitely stay here again.
We reserved a room at the Marriott Residence Inn (Boston North Shore/Danvers) that was about a half hour outside of Boston. They were having a social mixer in the lobby, so we filled up on salad, chips and salsa, spanakopita, and baklava. I really like how spacious the Residence Inn rooms are. They're essentially sizable studio apartments.
I was traveling in the area for business and needed a place to stay for a few nights. I booked the Residence Inn due to its location right off of Route 1 in Danvers with easy access to Peabody, Lynn, Danvers, Salem and surrounding towns. Stacy Downing was working the front desk the night I checked in. She is extremely friendly and very helpful. They have breakfast in the morning and meet and greet nights during the week where they offer some snacks and drinks. The rooms are spacious and some even have wood-burning fireplaces in them. I would not think twice about staying here again in the future. Two thumbs up to Stacy for her customer service!!
