A warm welcome awaits you. The Captain David Kelley House is an upscale bed & breakfast set in a restored Greek Revival sea captain's home built in 1835 in the heart of Cape Cod. Architectural gem featuring hardwood floors, crown moldings, and wainscoting. Three covered porches overlook beautifully landscaped yard and gardens. Listed on National Register of Historic Places, the inn offers six beautiful guest rooms with private baths, A/C, flat panel TVs, WI-FI and hair dryers. Beautiful beaches are just a 1/2 mile walk down the street, Hyannis, Osterville and Barnstable are a 10 minute ride away. Breakfast is truly an event each morning, including our famous "Scone Wars", featured on TV! After a day (or evening) of fun, return to your own private oasis at the Captain David Kelley House.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Property's Favourite Review
This was our third or fourth visit back to this gem of an inn located in Centerville MA. Not only are the accommodations comfortable, clean and tasteful, the entire property emits a warm and welcoming vibe. The proprietors are amazing, offering a delicious and always entertaining breakfast. It’s not just the scones that make the breakfast a highlight of your stay but also the campy fun and delicious breakfast entree that is freshly made. Super great time here.

I try to find some area for improvement with every review, but none noted by my wife and I are worth mentioning, because they would be so minor and picky. The room was spacious and clean. The beds, pillows, chairs were very comfortable, and bathrooms were stocked and hot water in the shower. The extra heater built into the wall was perfect for my side of the bed. There is k-cup coffee, tea bags, and hot and cold bubbler water and ice available, which came in handy. The common area was a way to meet the rest of the residents and socialize which enhanced the experience. The highlights were Rick and Tom who took an interest in each person and remembered from day to day about each one. Breakfast was an added bonus, even though the visit would have been great without it. The breakfast starts with tea or coffee and a fresh fruit serving, finishing with a tasty quiche or scrambled eggs if you choose, but after the fresh fruit serving, the scone war begins and without divulging too much, just summarize that the serving of the scones is an unforgettable experience, even for my ever-worsening memory. Stay at least two days to sample Rick's and Tom's recipes and unique scone flavoring. I had a favorite, but was a close call, like getting a 97 or 98 on a test; they're both A plusses in my book. We will be back every year or even more often and are recommending a visit to our other friends and family. They'll be sure to say that "Abby-Normal" sent them!

Everything at this beautiful bed and breakfast exceeded all our expectations! Rick and Tom are the perfect hosts. They are welcoming, generous, thoughtful, and hilarious! We laughed until we cried.Thank you to them for a memorable stay. We will certainly be back again!! The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The location is perfect - walkable to a general store and a beach as well as being close to many cute Cape Cod towns that we explored.

Rick and Tom always make every moment of my stay special . I love my comfortable room with the decor matching my nostalgic mood.. And my breakfast, well, I don’t know what I enjoy more- the delicious scones or the surprise visits from the talented celebrities who just happen to be in the neighborhood to entertain us for a bit. Bravo!

Usually when I travel for work I’m stuck in a stuffy hotel room…This time I was lucky enough to find this gem of a bed and breakfast! The Rachel Room was cozy, clean, and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too. If I am ever back in town for business or leisure I look forward to staying again.

We had such a great stay! From the start to finish, everything was perfect! The owners are fabulous, so warm, caring and helpful. The breakfast and the entertainment made our day. They even celebrated my birthday with song and a hat and candle. It was a great stay and I only wish we could have stayed longer!! We will be back.

Another wonderful visit to this outstanding property to ring in the new year! We have every intention of making this an annual tradition as well as adding more visit(s) during other seasons. The breakfasts (and SCONES!) alone are worth the trip, but the location, setting and accomodations are all first class and memorable. Beyond all that, Rick and Tom are such terrific hosts, we are always sorry to leave!

There was always something to look at. Great art work, many for local artists. We were there in January. It was still decorated from the Holidays. Just Beautiful. I am saving the best for last............ the breakfast. DO NOT MISS IT!!! Rick and Tom are FABULOUS hosts. We will be back and recommend you visit Captain David Kelley House too!

We have never stayed in such a welcoming and lovely B&B before. Usually we would stay in hotels, so slightly out of our comfort zone but from the minute we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome. The property is exceptionally beautiful. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and the bed was so comfortable to the extent we didn't want to get up. The hosts are absolutely amazing. Breakfast we were blown away, not only with the excellent food, both host's scones gorgeous, but also the entertainment!! Should we ever visit Cape Cod again, we will definitely return. Feel we made friends for life. Thank you.
