We didn't stay at the hotel, but had an anniversary dinner at the restaurant.
It is a charming place from the minute you walk in. Before dinner hors d'oeuvres were served in a beautiful setting. Dinner is celebrated in a very cozy restaurant. Beautiful table setting invites you to enjoy charming elegance of this place.
Food was delicious and served swiftly. Adding to the atmosphere was an excellent piano music through the whole evening.
We look forward to future visits and celebrations.

Came here for 5 nights. 2 nights Taney, 3 in Boucher. Rooms romantic. Inn tucked away in rolling hills of North Maryland. 15 min to Gettysburg. 1 hr 10 min to Glenmont subway station to Washington. We went to DC three day trips. Combination of relaxation, charm, service but especially romance this place hard to beat. Room rates good, should be higher and food prices right. A hidden gem but it is a great place to anchor in and day trip from.
Videos great way to check out rooms.
Shower on our room a bit off and in in terms of cold but that is peculiarly due to age of room. Taney has open bathroom so you have to be comfortable with no door :)
Lol. We were called in DC to ask when back and they had tea, coffee, beer and sandwiches waiting and extra fire wood.
Perfect spot for Gettysburg.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights while we were in the area. Absolutely fantastic place to stay, particularly for a romantic occasion. Staff is excellent, building and grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are unique and beautiful.

We stayed in the Meade room on the second floor of the Mansion. We picked that room because it was in the Mansion and had a king sized bed. While all the rooms look to be fantastic, we had heard that it was best to be in the Mansion or in one of the other buildings very close (Cottage, Ice House, Barn) so as to be near the dining and pub. The the outlying buildings along Mill Road have very nice rooms but it is a bit of a hike from there to the Mansion. One couple staying there while we were there was in the Lincoln room and complained that they had to bike to get to the pool and main building because of the distance. If you do not mind walking the outlying buildings may be fine But if you are not up for some serious walking, pick a room closer to the main building.

Our two night stay was excellent. The coffee and fresh muffins waiting at our door when we got up, the complimentary breakfast and the nightly turn down service complete with a rose made for a memorable stay. We also had a chance to hang by the pool, which is in a beautiful garden setting and had perfect water temperature.

We definitely recommend this place and plan to go back again ourselves, maybe at Christmas time when we assume the place will be decorated beautifully for the season.

We stayed at the Antrim 1844 at the recommendation of a colleague whose daughter was recently married at this venue. We were not disappointed. My advice is to choose your room wisely as there are so many too choose from. It does come down to your personal preferences. We enjoy our privacy so the Sleigh Room was truly ideal for us. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Afternoon tea at 4:00 is just lovely. The evening turn down service with a rose and chocolates is a sweet (no pun intended) touch. We had dinner one evening at the Smokehouse Restaurant in the Mansion: a six course Prix Fixe and once again, we were not disappointed. A truly remarkable experience with the most attentive service. This truly is a relaxing weekend. There is no television in the room so a perfect time for catching up on reading material. There didn't seem to be much to do in the area but Gettysburg is an easy short drive away (20 or so minutes away).

One of the best kept secrets in the area.
A fabulous bed-and-breakfast location with five-star dining this little gem in northern Maryland should be on everyone's bucket list. A prefix menu reasonably priced and deliciously prepared along with great service Plus a phenomenal wine cellar makes is truly a memorable experience. Prices are very reasonable accommodations are first rate. Based on an anti-bellum plantation house this is a must stop for connoisseurs of elite bed-and-breakfast locations. A beautiful winning wedding venue as well. I highly recommend this awesome property.

My wife and I have been to Antrim multiple times. We always stay in rooms outside the main house. We enjoy the dinners and phenomenal wine selection, and then sitting by the fir in the bar afterwards. Breakfast is delivered to your mailbox in the morning if you are staying outside the main house. The main house is a well kept house where you enjoy drinks and hors' doeuvres in the parlor, before being seated for dinner. The satff has always been exceptional. On one occasion my wife and I ran a tough mudder and due to logistics we ended up starting much later than expected which caused us being delayed for dinner. (Sorry about the bathroom, and towels, I don't think many people stay there after running in mud all day) we called the house on our way back, explained the circumstances and they prepared a late dinner and seated us quite late. I really could not have asked for more. On another occasion there was a wedding and we mingled with the wedding guests and had a great time. The staff are all very approachable and we always end up having a conversation with them. We really enjoy the house, food, staff and wine selection.

My husband and I traveled here about 2 weeks ago. We just needed a Saturday night away. We stayed in the Brandon room in the Mansion and enjoyed dinner. It was absolutely fabulous. Upon checking in, we were asked whether we wanted coffee or tea in the morning. We were also given a tour and welcomed. Our room was very nice and surprisingly large. I thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. Dinner was exceptional. My husband and I travel internationally quite a bit and we were both impressed with the cuisine and the service. Overall, we spent the three hour car ride home raving about our exceptional experience. We felt that we were completely pampered for the 24 hours that we were guests at Antrim.

A visit to the Antrim Inn was just what we needed to slow down and reset. It was luxurious relaxation in a historical setting. The word *pampered * barely describes the fantastic service which began when someone met us at the door and welcomed us to this amazing restored Inn. We enjoyed all aspects of our one night stay, however the "tea" at 4 o'clock and drinks/appetizers in the amazing restored rooms before the delicious multi course dinner were lovely touches. This is a great place to stay when you are in the Gettysburg area, or just a destination for a night away from home.

This delightful inn is charming and beautifully decorated. The grounds are so nice and well maintained. The flowers outside were all in bloom with no weeds anywhere. We were there for a reception and the wide variety of finger foods were all very good. The waitstaff deserve special recognition for refilling drinks and delivering food while maneuvering through the crowd.

My wife and I have stayed at Antrim several times before but it has been a while since our last stay. This time, we were attending a wedding on premise. I must say that the grounds are better than ever. We stayed on the third floor in the Ryan room. It was as nice as it has been in the past. The only amenity lacking was a shower but we can get with the European way of bathing in the tub with a hand held shower head.
Food was excellent as always and the staff was attentive as we remember. We loved it and will come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway.

I think some of the rooms are - I know that the house we stayed in had a ramp. I think you should call them and advise of what you will need.

what are your thoughts about staying in the main house vs. one of the out buildings?
Answer from BoatsBootsBalloons
Washington DC, District of Columbia45 contributions40 helpful votes
We stayed in one of the outer buildings and it was fine. Plenty of parking, very quiet, still got to enjoy the grounds. It means for meals you may have a bit of a walk or short drive (2 or 3 minute drive) but I didn't find this to be a huge inconvenience.
