We stayed in the "Sail Makers Loft". This room is an apartment with full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The third floor has a sitting room and door to a porch over looking the Wicomico River and Whitehaven Ferry. From the pouch you see the river, ferry, lawn and gardens, many birds and rabbits. Very quiet and relaxing. Cindy...

Can't get much quieter than this. The rooms are a little antiquated, but very quiet and with an assortment of views over the river and the marshes. The breakfast was good. The Inn has a dock for those with canoes and kayaks. The Inn also has a souvenir shop with some local artwork. The keepers were helpful. Could stand some...

In lieu of an unwanted party, my wife and I spent four days at Whitehaven in mid-December for my birthday. As an overall commentary. let me just say that we had originally planned to spend three days, not four. Whitehaven is a quaint old village with 27 resident people,15 resident dogs, and a church. Night life and fine restaurants are...

On the weekend of Sept. 22, my nephew was married at the Whitehaven Bed and Breakfast. It is a lovely place, on the banks of the Wicomico River with views of the river from the front porch and the screened in porch right off the Garden Room where my husband and I stayed. We were warmly greeted by Cindy, the...

A friend and I wanted to do something special to celebrate her 60th birthday. We decided on this hotel because they had a room with twin beds. It was a lovely place, nestled right on the banks of the Wicomico River. The staff was so friendly and our hostess was very helpful and a phenomenal cook. Breakfasts were wonderful! It...

This is the second time we stayed as we have family who has a vacation home approx. 15 mins away. That being said we stay at the B&B when the vacation house is packed and there are no more rooms. The hotel is an old house/hotel from the 1800s in a small quiet town and honestly I'm not sure what...

My husband and I found this wonderful B&B through neighbors, and we were very pleased with every aspect of our visit, especially the wonderful innkeeper, Cindy. She made us feel so welcome, like it was our home away from home, and since we were the only guests during our visit, we were able to establish a new friendship. The daily...

The innkeeper and connected "staff" are genuine people who love to share the history and stories of the town and town folks!!! The atmosphere is very laid back, relaxing and therapeutic! Great place for bird watching - lots of ospreys, laughing gulls, swallows, blue herons, and an occasional bald eagle. There aren't any stores nearby for food shopping, so either...

Hotel is beautiful restoration in lovely quiet town, but service was unsatisfactory for a rate of $150 per night. Arrived at 3pm and key in envelope on the door. No towels in the room. Never told how to turn on a.c. - none of guests knew there WAS a.c. - and we could have used it because it was warm...

The first thing to say is that, if the Whitehaven B & B and the Whitehaven Hotel are one and the same place, then the TripAdvisor map is wrong. The Whitehaven Hotel - which is what this review is about - is on River Road, Whitehaven, right by the ferry over the Wicomico River, and some distance south-west of the...

“Try one of the 2nd floor rooms with access to a screened in veranda.”

“Go for the Victorian or Federal rooms - they have fireplaces and overlook the river. The Garden room has no fireplace, but shares with the Victorian room the balcony overlooking the river.”

“Either the Victorian room or the Garden room are good choices because they open onto a screened porch which can be used by either or both rooms. Sitting on the porch watching the moon and stars over the water and feeling the cool breezes, is instant serenity!”

“If you are traveling with a friend, as we did, they do have a room with twin beds. Also, if you want to splurge, rent the top floor, which is a full suite with kitchen, dining room, and bedroom (plus a balcony) A few of the rooms have beautiful claw-foot cast iron tubs. Two other rooms share a balcony, but if you don't have one, there is one on the ground floor and you can always sit on the porch. If you are sensitive to light, you may want to bring an eye mask. Our room had a transom and light from the hallway came through. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”
