I stayed for 2 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The property is spread out on a portion of hill overlooking the sattal lake and provides a wonderful 360 deg view of the surrounding hills and valleys. The lodgings are clean, hygienic and well stocked with creature comforts. They are spaced out from each other (Accomodation is available in the various cottages on the hill and the main block)and one can enjoy their privacy and view without any interference. The service by the staff is quick and efficient. The manager, Mr Naveen Chander Arya is very helpful and flexible in ensuring that the stay is smooth. The property owner Ms Usha Upender was also present and is easily approachable should one have any issue. Overall a fantastic stay exceeding my expectations. Will definitely visit again.

I stayed a the property for 2N 3D with my family. Room/Cottage was very much ideally located with private beautiful Balcony in front of the Rooms. Room Service was excellent and snacks were very delicious. The Best part of the property is the facility for pick and drop for Sattal Lake. Lot of space around resort for trekking. Overall a perfect weekend break which was very much needed.

Fantastic family run boutique property in the hills with excellent views and food. The warmth and personal touch provided by the owner (Mrs Usha) and the staff (Dinesh, Naveen and others) made us feel at home throughout. Excellent will be an understatement to describe the food at the property. Overall, a gem of a place. Will surely come back for another longer stay

I stayed in this property for one night. The view was breathtaking and the food was delectable. Very well maintained lawns and gardens. Staff was courteous and helpful. They have a mini library, various board games, karaoke, casio, badminton, etc. so that you don't feel bored on a long stay. They also provide paper and colors for painting. I stayed in rooms on first floor which has common terrace overlooking Sattal Lake. We enjoyed our dinner on the terrace. This is all that I liked about the property. There are few things that I did not like. Maybe I am the only one here highlighting the cons about this property but these are the facts. There is an old pool table for which they charge on per person per hour basis. Pool and billiards used to be a luxury in my childhood days when hotels used to charge extra for it, I was wondering why they are charging for it now when every second mid range resort is providing it for free. Prior to checking in to this property, I stayed for 2 nights in a resort in Bhimtal whose tariff was almost at par with Sattal forest resort and that was providing all recreational games free of cost including pool, snooker and billiards. The room where I stayed needs immediate attention for repairs; the toilet seat rim was scrapped, wash basin had a crack, the cabinet below the wash basin was wrecked and gave me a creepy feeling while using the wash basin. The cupboard in the room was attacked by termite sometime, it still had marks of it. There were spiders in the washroom and we asked housekeeping to get rid of them. They instantly helped. Considering the room only tariff of Rs. 4400/- I was expecting a better room. Last two kilometres of the road to the resort was badly broken and will test your driving skills. It was a bit scary for us at few points, maybe be due to monsoon the road was slippery.

While planning a trip for my entire family (including 3 kids), I was particularly interested in booking an independent cottage for our stay where we could be away from a crowded environment. That’s when I chanced upon the Sattal Forest resort. Usha Maam (who happens to be the owner) is an absolutely delight to talk to. She made sure all my questions regarding accommodation, safety protocols, Food arrangements, Pre-travel COVID tests were answered well in advance and to my satisfaction. I can say without a doubt that the Sattal Forest resort has the best views (Of the Sattal lake) in the area. We were booked in the Taruvar cottage which has beautiful lake views from each balcony. The entire cottage was spotless and gave us a lot of confidence regarding the hygiene and cleanliness of the place. The kitchen and living room were also well equipped. In addition to the excellent rooms and views the one thing which really stands out in the Resort is the staff. The entire staff of ~10 members will make sure your stay is absolutely memorable. Naveen (who is the estate manager is always just a phone call away and is ready to help out in any which way to ensure the guests are comfortable), Other staff members like Dheeraj and Dinesh are also always available for anything. A special call out for the chef Kundan who ensured he made delicious home cooked meals on each and every day. Each dish he made was better than the last. Truly an amazing experience. We decided to extend our stay by 3 days and moved into the Deodhar cottage rooms (Since Taruvar was booked). Once again the rooms were really well maintained with an absolutely gorgeous view. If you are looking for a truly memorable stay with beautiful views, excellent caring staff and lip-smacking food. Please don’t look any further. We would surely keep coming back to the place. PS: For those of you who plan to work from the resort, it may help if you carry an backup dongle, while we found the Resort WIFI to be adequate, some other guests faced a few issues.
