The menu choice is very good and you will easy find something to your liking. The dishes are well presented with good size portions. Great atmosphere in an 'old pub' and you are made to feel very welcome.

Booked table for two for the Valentines special menu. Absolutley amazing, couldn't fault it at all. From a wonderful welcome upon arrival right up to coffee and truffles to finish. Sublime Cote de Beouf perfectly cooked. Lee, (front of house) and Chris (chef) made for a fabulous evening. Would whole heartedly recommend.

Paid mid week visit with the family to celebrate a birthday. A bit disappointing as although my husband had specifically asked for a certain dining area this had not be noted and we were shown to the opposite end of the pub! The food which has always been excellent on several visits last year was rather mixed in terms of...

Lee and all the staff at the Cherry Tree Inn were so friendly and welcoming. We stayed one night in the Cherry room in the adjoining, converted barn, which was lovely. We ate lunch, dinner and then breakfast the next morning - everything we ordered was delicious and inventive. We only wished we'd have been staying longer to try everything...

We love this place for a good drink! Whether you're inside with the fire going or outside in the sunshine we have always made friends and enjoyed the atmosphere. Food is good but not amazing. They seem to employ excellent, friendly bar staff. There are often events going on in the summer and there are board games if you're inside,...

Visiting Henley on Thames so chose the Cherry Tree Inn. Lovely bedroom, large bathroom, warmth in abundance and a first class dining area. The meals were well presented and above average and the Manager was courteous in every aspect of looking after us. Their standards are very good so don't miss this pub. Only downside no Wi Fi signal could...

Stopped here for a quick Sunday lunch after a morning walk. We had not booked but they had one table in the bar not far from a lovely fire. Although they were full,it was a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were efficient and courteous. I had the fish pie and my partner had a cod dish which were both...

We were looking for a cosy country pub to stay one night over a weekend - we had a list of essentials and this pub met all of those and more. A burning log fire in the main bar was top of the list, and that got the first tick as we entered the pub. From there, it just got...

I visited The Cherry Tree Inn with my new partner for a night away. I chose it after ready some good reviews about the views so I had high expectations. The food certainly did not disappoint! We also stayed overnight in one of the four available rooms in the converted barn. We were served by Lee who was exceptionally friendly...

We came to this nice cosy pub restaurant for a Sunday lunch. The roasts were very well done and good value. The star of the menu for me was the Burger - a huge offering made by the addition of the smoked cheese. The quality of the food is definitely above standard pub fare. There was also a good children's menu...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beautiful pub/inn/restaurant in Stoke Row, in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside in the Chiltern Hills. Elegant, chic design gives a warm, inviting feeling and the overall ethos of The Cherry Tree is one of comfort, enjoyment and relaxation. Food is key here with bi monthly menu changes of seasonal produce. Well kept beers, fantastic wines and great champagnes make this a place for a weekend away with a loved one, catch up with friends or equally happy catering for corporate groups. Likewise, it is a wonderful local pub in a beautiful Oxfordshire village. Four en-suite letting rooms in the barn are fresh, crisp, elegant and clean and most comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience and not to be missed if in this part of the country. There is a definite air of class about this place and the London set flock to it in droves for a great country fix. ... more   less

Henley on Thames

Dear Sir/Madam,

Many thanks for your comments on Trip Advisor. As local regulars it is with concern that I hear of your experiences at the Cherry Tree. We are a Brakspears pub therefore our beer supply, offer, and deliveries all derive from them. We always stock their ‘best’ bitter and vary the other pump. The seasonal ales are very popular but somewhat erratic in supply, so we stuck with Ringwood which is proving popular until we get our 3rd pump put in which will allow a much better offer across the board. However, in reference to your comments about running out, I’m not aware of ever running out of both lines, ever!

We stock at least 3 types of gin, Gordons, Bombay and Hendricks, so if we have ever run out of one we always have at least 2 others to offer. We are now stocking English Chase Gin to broaden the offer.

Our wine list has 4 red wines by the glass and 12/14 red wines to offer in total, so not having a good red on offer would be unlikely. There was a very small cross over when we changed our list 2 months ago, so if there was a bit of disruption i can only apologise but i hope you made the best of some great bin end deals!

Our draft Thatchers was a problem over a few weeks when it was on and off, which was a technical issue and very frustrating so apologies once again. However, we stock Bulmers, Rekordling, Addlestones Cloudy and Aspalls ciders by the bottle to hopefully fulfill the cider drinkers.

If we ran out of Guiness it may be that we struggled to maintain a consistent offer when we swapped over from Brakspear Black, back to Guinness, due to lack of interest in the Brakspears brand; this was some months ago.

Your comments are really appreciated and taken on board but we try our very best to maintain a good, interesting offer across the board and running out would not ever be the scenario that both parties would enjoy!

Please drop me a line as I don't believe we've spoken before and i would love to get your comments on a new ale and perhaps sample a few gins!!

Many thanks,

Mr Douglas Green
