Firstly I just want to say that we absolutely loved our stay.

On arrival we were welcomed by the fantastic reception staff and shown around this beautiful boutique hotel. The view is spectacular and the recently refurbished rooms are stunning with all the best modern technologies you could ask for.

We had a degustation dinner with matched wines in the restaurant. The food was fantastic (some dishes were out of this world!) and the matched wines were perfectly selected. The Sommelier was amazing. The time he took with us made for a great experience.

The breakfast we had the next morning was also really lovely. Great food, coffee and juices.

The only drawback for us was that the service from the waitstaff doesn’t match the quality level of the rest of the stay. There were just some really clumsy things that you don’t see in a fine dining restaurant with this price tag. Water glasses shouldn’t remain empty for over half an hour, and empty plates shouldn’t remain on the table uncleared for 20 minutes. Our degustation dinner ended up taking almost 4 hours due to these types of delays, and whilst we were finishing up dessert, waitstaff were clearing and redressing tables and moving chairs around. It wasn’t exactly the most intimate and relaxing setting.

With some changes in the service from the waitstaff this place could have been one of our better dining experiences.

Dear Jackie, Thank you for your lovely comments regarding your stay at Jonah’s and the quality of our food and beverage offering. We’re sorry to hear that on this occasion, the service didn’t meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on the service we provide and receive many positive regarding our restaurant wait staff so this is disappointing for us to hear. Your feedback is valuable to us as it helps us to continue to improve. Your comments have been communicated to our team to make sure that this does not become a regular occurrence. We hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you back to Jonah’s again in the future. Kind regards,

While we often travel and stay in top class hotels, it is the level of perfection of Jonah's that stands out - every detail was just perfect. The room was beautiful as many hotel rooms can be but it was that attention to detail that distinguishes Jonah's from other venues. For example, the C-Bus automation of lights, curtains etc, the size and location of the TV's, even simple things like large bath towels, heated bathroom floor, quality soap and bathroom products, spa and a large shower. Nothing disappointed us.
Then we had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and again the standard of service and the quality of food and wine was exceptional - the 82 page wine list was great reading!
The reception staff were very welcoming and helped us settle in and feel comfortable.
There is no doubt that we will return!

Our second trip to Jonah's and it didn't disappoint. From the warm welcome at check in, the view from the room and quality of food and service at dinner and breakfast, this was the perfect way to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. The attention to detail, professional yet friendly staff and feeling like you are well away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney make this a must visit location for special occasions, in our opinion. Welcome drinks on the deck over looking Whale Beach are a perfect introduction to Jonah's and it only gets better - spacious rooms with ocean views, quality furnishings, little gifts and a relaxing atmosphere allow you to relax to the max. A real gem in Sydney .

I don't usually write reviews but after staying at Jonahs this passed weekend the 22 of February 2020 for my 20 year wedding anniversary I felt I wanted to share my experience to help others know what they are getting before booking. I have stayed recently at Bannisters By the Sea, Bannisters Pavillion and Kims Retreat all local high end getaways where I felt my money was better spent. To summarise the staff were super friendly and accommodating but the room was tiny, although the view was beautiful. The breakfast was very disappointing. For the price fresh fruit juice should be served instead of bottled and the hot breakfast options were very small and just not up to the standard of a yummy Aussie breakfast. I also felt the exterior terrace and public zones are in need of a revamp. To summarise the weekend stay was nice but not blown away.

Dear Justine, We appreciate your feedback but of course we are disappointed to hear that your stay at Jonah’s didn’t meet your expectations. After more than 90 years of operation we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service so I thank you for recognising our friendly and accommodating staff. Our Ocean Retreat rooms (each with private balcony and ocean views) have recently been refurbished with luxurious custom made furniture, spa baths, A.H. Beard Luxury World Series king sized beds, state of the art technology, hand laid parquetry flooring and more. We receive many compliments on our rooms and although we are a boutique property and the size of the rooms comfortably accommodate two people. The two course breakfast included in our accommodation packages consisting of freshly baked croissants, granola, yoghurt and fresh seasonal fruit, followed by the hot dish of your choice including three different egg dishes, a sweet pancake dish and a vegetarian dish usually offers our guests enough to choose from. If you had mentioned that you didn’t find what you were looking for, our restaurant staff would have done their best to accommodate your requests. We will definitely take your comment about the freshly squeezed juice on board as we are always striving to improve our offering across the hotel and restaurant to give our guests the best experience possible. Kind regards,

From the moment you step through the door you feel like you are at home. The attentive service of the staff is impeccable and genuine. The rooms are delightfully furnished with all modern day requirements and the views are superb. Then there is the restaurant, also with to-die-for views ... from the pre-dinner cocktail as we idled through the menu choosing the courses, to the delectable food and on to the sticky with dessert the experience was perfect. Breakfast proved equally enjoyable and it was no trouble at all to vary a dish to accommodate my fussy palate. It has taken us a while to get to Jonah's but we are so glad we did and we will be back. In the current age who can't love an establishment that respects the apostrophe?

We were treated to a 2 night dinner bed and breakfast package as a present from our daughter. This was our first time at Jonah's. We were met by a charming receptionist who offered us a glass of champagne while waiting for our room to be made ready.
The room was well appointed and had great views of the ocean. Our room had a large sun deck on which to relax. We appreciated the coffee machine and the capsules, the variety of teas in the room along with a well stocked fridge with a selection of wines. The staff were very efficient and friendly.

We had booked three nights at Jonah's Boutique Hotel, as part of our 26 days during May itinerary in Australia, through an Australian travel agent. Then, abruptly the hotel notified us on 26 Jan. that they had a private function make a booking in the hotel for one night of our scheduled stay. They cited their fine print terms "Please note that Jonah’s reserves the right to book a function or event that may alter the offerings available at the property or cancel your reservation. We will provide at least three months’ notice of any changes." While they offered to rebook us at a later date, our itinerary had been locked in well in advance of their notice, so this was an offer without any possibility of success for international travelers. We received a full refund and had to begin a search for a location and hotel available for those three specific nights. Neither our travel agent nor us had ever experienced such an action by any hotel in the world. To say the least, we will never book a stay at Jonah's and recommend that you do not do so either. The inclusion of a cancellation provision in their Terms & Conditions doesn't make it the right and honorable thing to do!

Although very rarely used, we do have the policy included where we reserve the right to amend bookings more than three months in advance of the booking date. We have many bookings very far in advance and we are not always able to confirm if there will be a function, maintenance or other changes in business circumstance so we inform our guests of this policy in our terms and conditions. Changing bookings is not something we wish to do as our guest experience is our utmost priority, so this policy is only used at the rarest of times when there is no other solution possible. It is unfortunate that we had to instigate the policy on this occasion and that your experience with our business was affected because of this.

From the moment my partner and I arrived, we were made to feel so special and we have never received service like it in any hotel! We were instantly whisked on the terrace with stunning views of whale beach and given a welcome
Champagne drink. Our room was sumptuously appointed with the best minibar and 300 movies to choose from. Along with the stunning food and service in the restaurant this place is well worth a visit and very much lives up to the hype - in fact it exceeds it!

If you want the best experience when it comes to a boutique hotel and one of the finest restaurants in NSW then this is the place to be. From the moment you are greeted at reception, to the incredible views there was no imperfection. All staff; both hotel ( Julia is wonderful) and restaurant are welcoming and accommodating and bed over backwards to assist. The accommodation is of the finest quality. The restaurant with the extraordinary list of wines, incredible meals and service is total sophistication. We cant wait to return.

Delightful understated accommodation in one of Sydney's premier areas. You are there to admire the views, the food, the excellent service. Swim, surf, boat ride, drive around the peninsula - no better break for a short holiday..

I think they are all in the same building, I imagine any room would guarantee a perfect view. There are a couple of rooms that back onto the pool, which isn't for me, I prefer the room with a balcony, but that's personal taste.
