The moorings inn sits on the most beautiful oceanfront grounds and the rooms have views that can't be beat! The room we stayed in was an end unit with total views of SouthWest Harbor and also had sliding glass doors that opened up to the deck with our own table and chairs. You can't get any more oceanfront than this....

We found the Moorings by accident in 2016 on an impromptu trip to Mt. Desert Island and were hooked from the first night. It's a clean, comfortable spot with a lot of authentic charm and a ton of history. The setting and view of the harbor, mountains and incredible Somes Sound are like a giant magnet that pull us back...

During this time of year any places had no vacancy so when we booked this online it was mostly because it was available and looked acceptable. What a nice surprise when we arrived! My room was adorable, plenty of hot water and a very comfortable bed! You feel like you're staying in the home of a ships captain. And the...

This is a 200 year old inn overlooking the harbor and the town of Southwest Harbor. It's on the quieter side of the island with a small trip to town and a 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor. The suite we stayed in had a deck looking over the harbor, a bathroom and 2 funky smaller rooms filled with antiques...

The innkeepers do all they can to make you comfortable and at peace. The Pilot House Cottage is exceptional, with skylights, a jacuzzi & a sense of spaciousness yet coziness at the same time, and the view on harbor at anytime of tide is...just beautifully panoramic. Sunrises are spectacular. Go!

This price was definitely right, and if you're fond of decor that's an accumulation of oddities from quite a long time ago, this is your place. Our room was really small so inquire about that if it matters to you. There were common rooms full of all sorts of stuff, floors that weren't level, and the place just generally had...

Thank you for staying with us. Staying at an historic in presents its challanges. I am the 5 generation , consecutive, inn keeper at this location. The staff and family work diligently as the stewards of this inn and property to maintain its origional charm. The many artifacts relating to our local history and seamanship are in character . There...

This Inn is all about the location which, for my wife and I, is about as good as it gets. The views are idyllic coastal Maine. It is superbly situated only steps from the water with picturesque views of Southwest Harbor to the West, Somes Sound to the North and the Cranberry Islands/Atlantic Ocean to the East. It neighbors the...

To start with, the place looked totally different from what was shown in the internet. Pilot house is not only the good shot about the fireplace they feature online, this is the weirdest place I’ve ever stayed. It is about a fully renovated kitchen attached to an “antique” shop full of clutter. The master bedroom was very small and the...

Our deepest regrets that we were not aware of your displeasure during your three nights stay. We assure you that customer service is of utmost importance to us and we would have corrected any issues immediately. We are very proud of the long maritime history in the area and of the Inn itself. The many antique ships and artifacts on...

The place is quite unique, about 25 min drive from the main Acadia NP headquarters, it is an old house of a seaman family, with several large suites that can easily accommodate a family of 4-5, views of the harbor are great, the main house is very special with old memorabilia, maps and other sea related objects, breakfast is modest....

We are happy you understood and complimented us on our mariner artifacts located throughout the property. One of our goals is to preserve our heritage and culture. Five generations of innkeeping have lead to an extensive collection. Please come back and enjoy what this fine property has to offer as I am sure you missed something! We try to please...

My husband and I have stayed two separate times at The Moorings. Most recently we stayed in Topside which is the second floor of the cottage. We absolutely loved it!
