Southwest Harbor is said to be the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island, far from the noisy crowds of tourists in Bar Harbor. The Drydock Inn didn't fit our picture—or the pictures on the Inn's website—of charming lodgings in a peaceful setting. The website has many pretty pictures of rooms at the Inn, but none showing the outside of the... More

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here, but at least tell the truth in your review of us. We are an inn located in the center of Southwest Harbor. We have a 100 seat restaurant on the first floor of our building under the same name. We have reviews for our restaurant on TripAdvisor under Café... More

This is a quaint and clean operation. It has a good restaurant on the first floor. Regrettably, our stay was in a noisy room - Room #8. There was lots of clunking from the restaurant/kitchen below. Also, the window of this second-floor room opens on an alley where employees take breaks - the loud employee conversations (included some swearing) and... More

We take our 10-year-old Coton de Tulear with us when we travel, and it's not always easy to find a truly dog-friendly place to stay. (In our experience, some have hefty fees and others have flea-infested carpeting in the rooms allocated for dogs and their owners.) The Drydock Inn was wonderful! It is an older, but well-maintained, building in the... More

We usually arrive in Southwest Harbor after a full day of driving and poking around the coast. So we're not looking for anything fancy but a place with good food and a casual ambience. Cafe Drydock always fills the bill. It seems to be a local favorite. On both our visits (2014 and 2015) the bar was crowded with people... More

Stayed at the Café Drydock Inn for 3 days 7/30/15 thru 8/1/15. First visit to Maine and couldn't have been better. Did all the touristy stuff, visited Bar Harbor, whale watch cruise and hiked Acadia. Really enjoyed the Café and the Inn the most. Helpful, friendly staff, great food and super rooms. We travelled with 2 other couples and everyone... More

My husband & I went to Cafe Drydock for our Anniversary dinner. Good thing I made reservations because when we walked in they turned another couple away because they were booked for that evening so reservations are a good idea. We were dressed very nice since it was a special dinner which got a few looks. Easy say we were... More

We stayed save real nights at the Inn and really liked it. The room was perfect and I was surprised would could not hear any noise from the restaurant nor smells from the kitchen, even with the windows open. The food was also very good and it was helpful having the restaurant connected so we could do takeout to our... More

We were very happy with the Inn, our room and the Cafe below. The staff was friendly and accommodating and made many good recommendations for activities in and around Southwest Harbor. It was a great base of operations as we visited trails and activities on both sides of MDI. We had room #1 and it was worth it to have... More

Literally squeezed four average sized people into a very tight booth in the back. We were there for a light supper with my 82 year old in laws who did not want to be moved again. The food was very good, unfortunately the tight squeeze made for a poor experience. Definitely would go again. Fresh fish and great nachos.

I thought the prices were high and the food was mediocre. The house pinot noir was great. Just was underwhelmed by my food the ambiance and the service. Pretty town though. Nothing bad to say was just underwhelmed and wouldn't go back.
