Just loved this beach although small in size it more than made up for its size, this jewel has been hiding from me didn't even know it was there. I would definately go back again next year. The rooms were not big, no AC but it really didn't matter as being near the ocean there was a breeze at night....

We spent four nights at the Higgins Beach Inn, and we loved it. It was easy to slow down and relax at the Inn. We had a room on the third floor, looking out the front of the Inn. Each morning we got coffee and pastries and sat in our window and leisurely read the paper. We were glad we...

This is a favorite summer dining spot for my husband and I. Their restaurant is named "Garofolo's Italian Restaurant" but it does not have its own identity here. I am a long-term Maine resident, and I have to say their baked-stuffed lobster is the best I've EVER had (I think it is not currently on their menu, but call ahead...

The Higgins Beach Inn is a truly unique place to stay. The inn is very old and rooms are decorated with very old furniture. When we stayed there, with friends from Conneticut, the Inn wasn't open for business. Bob and Diane graciously allowed us to stay, and made the three days a highlight of our second trip to the US. Staff...

Great food--Personal Service--Go with whatever the Chef recommends. Coastal style Inn with a nice lounge and a great restaurant. Special requests--no problem. Make a weekend of it with that special other and enjoy a slice of heaven. Can't wait to go back.

We come here every year. We have family in nearby South Portland, but this is by far our favorite place to stay. The rooms are all wonderful, even the ones with shared bathrooms. And the restaurant is fantastic, too! Don't forget to borrow the boogie-boards when you head for the beach (which is just down the street).

I went to this hotel and beach with my spouse and we had a wonderful time. It was nice to hear the peaceful waves from your window. The breakfast that was served was fantastic. We stayed two nights and had pancakes one morning and then eggs and toast with some fruit the next. I would recommend this hotel to anyone...

We were doing a weekend road trip through New England and were only in ME for 1 day and chose to stay at Higgins Beach based on location and price. It was a very lovely and quaint inn. Everything was very clean. The tv was old, but functional. Our only gripe would be that we were pretty cold at night...

The Higgins Beach Inn is very nice. It's quaint, and certainly has very nice character. We found all the staff to be courteous. It is also a very good location; a 60 second walk from the beach although most (or maybe all) rooms don't have a view. It's very historical-looking, and most rooms have a shared-bath in the hallway. The...

Expect simplicity to get away from it all. And I mean "ALL". No TV. No phones. Half the rooms do not even have a private bath. This charming Victorian Inn will take you back a hundred years to lazy summer vacations of days gone by. Clean, comfortable, quiet, nostalgia. The gourmet restaurant on site is handy and pleasant for breakfast...
