We checked in to pumpkin pie and greetings from the owner. We were shown to our room and told that the water shortage rendered our claw foot tub useless as we were asked not to use it. Being as this was one of our main selling points, I was disheartened to hear this to say the least. The bed was...

This historic home was decorated beautifully, with a large yard, horses to watch, a hot tub and fire pit, and wine and delicious pie waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast was delicious as well. Loved talking to the innkeeper about the house and her travels, and her restaurant suggestions were perfect. This is a place to relax and...

From start to finish, we had a great time at the Perennial Inn -- with these disclaimers: we only stayed one night, and we never got to meet Darlene. We did communicate with her via phone, both during the reservation process and on the day of arrival, in addition to her extremely helpful email regarding beautiful routes to take through...

We are happy you enjoyed your stay, Western Maine is a unique area and we do go to bed with the sun! I am glad you enjoyed breakfast, if ever in the area again, I hope I get to spend a few minutes with you. The first snow of the season is starting this evening, glad you made it home...

The innkeeper emailed us that she would be away during our 5 night stay but said her assistant would take good care of us. When we arrived there were two notes on the unlocked, side entrance door; one addressed to us signed by her assistant; and the other for another guest couple from WI who arrived at the same time....

Theresa and Tom, we are sorry our Inn disappointed you. With such a small Inn, we need to operate additional businesses in order to cover the costs. And, work was the only thing that took us away. The Inn is a labor of love, and staff sometimes doesn't feel the same passion. I am sorry you did not see our...

We just returned from a weekend at The Perennial Inn. We were very happy with our experience at this farmhouse inn. We were looking for a place that was quaint with character, in close proximity to Sunday River, and that was pet friendly. We found all of this at The Perennial Inn. Darlene was very hospitable, breakfast was delicious, and...

I read the previous reviews, and was looking forward to staying on the farm. Until we pulled up and saw the condition of the place. It needs some serious attention on the outside. Even so, we could see the hot tub and I wanted to enjoy a glass of wine and enjoy a Maine sunset. Until we got close to...

This is the second time this she has posted this review. The first was removed because it does not meet Trip Advisor guidelines, however, until it is removed again, we'll respond. First, she admits she never stayed. Second, she says she read the reviews, if so, she knows this is a small farm. Many guests are quite happy with the...

A great B and B. The place is a beautiful elegant old farmhouse and the rooms are slightly rustic. But the experience is fantastic. Warm greeting, snacks and wine on arrival. Coffee and Baileys available anytime. Nice outside hot tub. A very elegant breakfast with individual spiced fritattas and thick slices of smoked ham from their own pig. The owners...

We arrived at the Perennial Inn on a drizzly, rainy afternoon, but received a warm, friendly greeting from Darlene, with a glass of wine, brownies and a relaxing time sitting on the screened in comfortable front porch. Later, sitting by the fireplace, we met her beautiful pregnant chocolate lab and learned about her love of animals and Labrador breeding. We...

We arrived at The Perennial Inn after a day of sight seeing on the way from Portland and were greeted by Darlene (the innkeeper) who offered us a cold drink and a sit on the porch. This was very welcome and was very relaxing. Unfortunately the toilet in our room was broken so we had to walk down the hall...

We are sorry to have disappointed you with the appearance of the Inn. The Inn is always a work in progress, as it was built in 1884 and is always in need of TLC, The question always is, what to do first. Unfortuantely, you arrived to a completely full Inn and after being given the option of staying with the...
