Its a great place with a wonderful and interesting history. The owners were friendly, the place was spotless, and the rooms were very nice (seriously). Couldn’t ask for more. Too bad there weren't more restaurants in Rumford to augment this location.

I stayed here overnight to attend a class reunion. The room is immaculate, owners friendly, lots of space in the room. They have thought of everything to make you feel at home. Having breakfast already in the room was a treat.

The owners are gracious and welcoming. The Baxter Room was gorgeous and so comfortable. Room and inn were immaculate. Continental breakfast for you in the morning is included in the cost of the room. Would definitely stay here again.

The owners are friendly, and our room, the "Chisholm" was very spacious and inviting. The breakfast is a continental style, with cereal, muffins, fruit and coffee available in the room. Loved the furniture!

I've been staying the Boardwalk Inn when on business in Rumford for several years now. Joline and Gerry have done a wonderful job creating a warm, comfortable, accommodating inn, with all of the comforts of home. Eight self-contained suites, each with a private bath and mini-fridge and microwave (some of the original suites also have a kitchen sink and toaster).... More

I stayed here the night before an interview. The owners were great, directing me where to park, showing me to my room, and even providing directions to where I needed to go for the interview and dinner. The room was beautiful and elegant, and the bed and armchair were perfectly placed and extremely comfortable. They had even laid out breakfast... More

Stayed at the Boardwalk Inn on a Friday night after skiing at Black Mountain in Rumford. Because we planned to ski at another location Sunday (further away from Rumford) we only stayed one night. In retrospect, staying here Saturday night as well, would have made our weekend much more relaxing. The owners met us at the door and were kind... More

VERY spacious room in new section of Inn, well appointed. Quiet area, pleasant host. Only thing we missed was the opportunity to speak with other guests over breakfast as the continental breakfast provided was in the room itself.

Owners Gerry and Joline thought of everything when they added on to the original Inn. A room in the new wing is like being in your own home. All breakfast fixings were waiting for you when you arose in the morning ,including fresh baked goods, fruit, juice ,coffee and cereals. The bed was comfy. We always bring our own pillows, but we... After a day of golf at Belgrade Lakes, we arrived to a warm welcome from the hosts, Joline and Gerry. The Inn was well located, just off a few kilometres from the main route through the western part of Maine. Gerry provided an interesting recount of the evolution of the Inn's history to the newly renovated property. The hosts were... More

“I had the Swift River room and it was great with easy access.”

“Stayed in the Acadia room which is next to the entry hall from the outside. Did hear the outside door opening a few times in the morning when someone entered or exited. It had also been snowing so I think the person was stomping off their boots. Rooms more interior to this may be quieter. Would still pick this room if staying again though. Lots of nice sunlight!”
