Checked into adjoining rooms with another family we spend a lot of time with. It was my son's 9th birthday, and although we live locally, we wanted to make his birthday extra special by splurging on an overnight at the Samoset. After checking into our rooms a little early, we got dressed for a dip in the nice, warm, clean...

Hotel was festively decorated. The vibe of the hotel was warm and inviting. Lobby had a display of a living room, fireplace and stockings etc all made of gingerbread! It was so creative and what a great place for taking the annual Christmas card photo. The room we stayed in was comfortable, roomy and immaculate. The Samoset is in the...

Absolutely love the Samoset! Spent a weekend night for our son's birthday along with our good friends in adjoining rooms. The kids enjoyed the pool and Health Club. Ordered room service from Enoteca-the pizzas are phenomenal- and spent a relaxing evening watching movies. Got a look at the sample rooms to showcase the upcoming renovation and they are amazing! Cant...

We have stayed in several Opal properties and this was our first time to the Samoset. A relatively unassuming exterior from the front leads to spectacular beauty. The views of the golf course, light house, ocean from the rear of the property are breathtaking. We absolutely loved the walk out to the lighthouse and running/exploring the expansive grounds during the...

Rooms were very nice and clean. We were there to do some golfing and ended up with a six hour round of golf. Person at the golf desk was arguing with another staff member over another gas visit. See more interested in that, than our concerns about the golf. Did not use restaurant or bar, but looked nice. Hotel staff...

We are local and visit the Samoset often -- usually for a drink and lite fare. Recent visit was below the norm: only beers on tap were Bud Lite, Miller Lite, and Stella - not a "real" beer or IPA available; also out of Sam Adams in bottle. Not sure if they really did not have a keg to tap...

We visited the Samoset for 10 days and wish we could have stayed for a month! So much to do along this beautiful part of Mid-coast Maine, assuming you decide to leave this amazing resort. Golf, tennis, spa, multiple restaurants .... and the most stunning views of Penobscot Bay. I travel the world for my business and the staff at...
