Kind innkeepers, delicious breakfast, clean rooms and walking distance to Old Port. My wife and I had a wonderful stay for a single night. We drove to Portland on a whim and rang the Inn on Carleton's bell hoping for vacancy. They were quite accommodating. Really though, the first sentence . subject says it all.

We always wanted to visit New England and experience this part of our nation. The trip was delightful, the lighthouses were fabulous, and the Inn on Carleton was a great place to stay. There were several nice restaurants in walking distance as well.

Had an excellent nights stay, good recommendations for restaurants and walks, breakfast was beautifully cooked and the lounge and bedroom tastefully decorated. The only small issue was no tea or coffee seemed to be available in the lounge in the evening

We had a wonderful stay and the location worked perfectly for visiting our daughter who lived close by. The Inn is beautiful and an easy walk to many of the shopping and eating areas. Patty and Leo were terrific hosts and served a delicious breakfast. Thanks and we look forward to a return visit.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. Leo checked us in and gave us lots of recommendations on where to eat and what to do and see. The location was great, within walking distance to great restaurants and busy downtown, a bit farther to the port area but an easy walk for those who enjoy a stroll. Breakfast was...

We had a great overnight stay at the Inn on Carleton. It was well located, easy to reach by car and it was easy to walk into areas where there were lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Just returned from a 2 night stay. Beautiful inn and room. Patti met us at check in and was very knowledgeable about the surrounding restaurants! 3rd floor room 6 was very nice and quite. Has bathroom outside the room but it it's own little private hallway. Bedroom door closed off the hallway which was nice as the next rooms bathroom...

We made reservations only a week ahead and could only secure a room for Thursday night, they were booked all weekend. How I wish I had booked earlier. The inn was just perfect.
