Discerning for oneself is important. Before I booked this hotel, I had read a few of the negative reviews but I chose it anyway and was very rewarded. I booked one of the small cottages, Wharf Porch to be exact, as well as two rooms in the hotel. It was for a little family reunion with my 3 adult children....

Cottage was very musty smelling and old. You can hear everything that is going on in the next cottage. Breakfast is only served from 8-9am so don't plan on sleeping in at all! The bed was uncomfortable and the sheet didn't fit correctly. Even the common room seemed old and in need of updates. If possible, find somewhere else to...

We have been staying at The Gosnold Arms for over 30 years, usually in late June. We love the harbor and enjoy hanging around and watching life go by in a real coastal working waterfront. While there have been many changes over the years it is still a quaint inn that is true to itself and the area. We've come...

We keep coming back. We have seen a lot of changes over the years, all mandated by local laws and regulations in terms of the dining options. The Gosnold is managed by Chris and Lucy. Chris is a local and Lucy's family owns the place. The Gosnold has stayed true to itself. If you came to get pampered you are...

My husband and I and our moms visited in October. The autumn leaves were just reaching peak color. We stayed in McFarland Cottage, which was just the perfect size for the four of us. We loved the wrap-around porch that hangs over the rocky beach. We spent a great deal of time on the porch soaking in the beautiful views...

We stayed in the Pilot House and really liked it. we loved sitting on the porch, looking out over the water, in the evenings. the place was clean and neat, but not fancy. Breakfast also wasn't fancy but the blueberry pancakes were yummy. Location was great for taking the Hardy Ferry out to Monhegan Island and for eating at Shaw's.

We rented the Wharf Room, which is a 2 room suite in a separate building overhanging the harbor. Very simple, very clean and as close to the harbor as you can get without getting wet. But be aware, this is a working boat harbor, and the lobstermen fire their boats up at about 4 AM, so if that's going to...

We were extremely disappointed in the Gosnold Arms, and wish we'd read other reviews on TripAdvisor before booking it. We stayed in 6 other places in Maine and this was by far the worst. And it was one of the most expensive, which is just outrageous. We stayed in one of the cottages on the hill, with children. The room...

I stayed in the whorf porch and it was beautiful inside the room and it came with a porch with an AWSOME and beautiful view. If there wasn't so much to do n look at around there I would of loved to just stay on the porch and admire the view. The only downside was you could only get wifi...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for a friend's wedding nearby. The website and brochure make the Gosnold look nicer than it is. We were expecting a quaint, clean cottage. Instead, we got a somewhat dumpy cottage, with uncomfortable bedding, and an ancient bathroom. I understand it's a B&B, and not meant to be a 5-star place,...
