Very nice place, the staff were super-friendly and very accomodating. The room was quite small, but it has the huge plus that all the windows opened - one doesn't always have this, and it was great to have some fresh air. The room was super, super clean. The breakfast (more like a lunch) was awesome! If you are not into...

Caroline and her entire Edgewater Inn team was phenomenal, they are all so accommodating and make you feel at home. This was our second time visiting and will be going back every year. The breakfast is also the best breakfast I ever had, it was as good as the first year we went. Thank you to Chef Jason.

This was a terrific breakfast place. Across the street from the Breakwater Inn &Spa. You have a view of the po d from the dining room. It is fairly small in size but the chef is terrific. Truffled butter, pate, poached eggs salad. All with a French flare. So good. Fresh french press coffee at your table. 22$ for your...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of New England. The Inn is located in a perfect spot in Kennebunkport, easily walkable into the town. We had a very warm welcome from our host who showed us to our room, a king with a lovely deck overlooking the water. She did show us another room and...

We spent the first prelude weekend here and had a wonderful experience! The service was really top notch and was what really set The Edgewater Inn apart from other places I've stayed. The location is great! It's a nice quiet area, but just a short walk to Dock Square! The room was well-decorated and very comfortable. There are great touches...

Caroline is the best hostess ever. She greeted all of her guests and made sure we were comfortable and informed about what to do/where to eat. The rooms were very cozy with nice amenities. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. Not your typical B&B faire. The chef is AMAZING.

Loved, loved, loved the brunch! Amazing Chef Jason. We stayed one night as stopover before heading to Bar Harbor. The inn was cozy, the room's furnishings and decor were updated and spotless. We were upgraded to a room with a patio facing the river. Unfortunately it was a chilly evening in October and we were not able to enjoy sitting...

We spent a lovely fall weekend at The Edgewater. The property is lovely and extremely clean and well kept. Not too far from Kennebunkport and close by to other shops and restaurants. The breakfast is amazing and will keep you full all day long. Best breakfast by far of any resort we have stayed in in the area. We stayed...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon through New England in September 2015. We were upgraded to their suite - which was lovely - very clean and spacious- and the breakfasts were the best of the best (the chef *really* knows what he is doing!) and we were spoilt for choice each morning. They also had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Edgewater Inn, formerly known as The Green Heron Inn one of Kennebunkport's historic Inns, is located on Ocean Avenue, in one of the town's most charming neighborhoods. It sits adjacent to an estuarine cove, near the mouth of the Kennebunk river and just around the bend from President George Bush's vacation home on Walkers Point. Overnight stays include a 3-course breakfast, prepared by Chef Jason Grant in the "on the edge" restaurant from eight to noon. The Inn was built in the early 1900's as a boarding house that provided shelter and breakfast for weary travelers. Twelve guest rooms including a cove side cottage, thirty-two seat restaurant. Its location, which combines the beautiful surrounding of the Kennebunk River and the convenience of its proximity to all major Kennebunkport attractions, contributed to its popularity from its early days. That tradition continues today. While relaxation at The Edgewater Inn is an art in itself, activities abound in the surrounding area. Guests enjoy rejuvenating walks along the rocky shore, enjoy the sun on the sandy beach, explore the numerous galleries and shops in Dock Square, watch the wildlife and the birds as they gather near the water next to the inn, or spend a sunny day on one of the nearby golf courses. ... more   less
