My family of 5 stayed here for a night whilst visiting kennebunkport earlier this week. The owners have done a lovely job of decorating the place. We all loved the art work on display throughout and would have happily taken some back to the UK with us but unfortunately most were too large for check-in luggage! A nice touch, supporting... More

This Inn is in a great location, with a fantastic brunch and very well appointed rooms. The owner and family were very good to us, as this was our first trip with both an infant and dog. The room was very clean with nice finishes in the bathrooms. The breakfast/brunch is truly exceptional. Great selection and fantastic execution. Worth noting,... More

The room was very comfortable. It was a little dark. And I would like a little table in the bathroom for my things. But I would definitely stay there again. The decor was up to date and very tasteful. The restaurant was incredible. The food was excellent.

Just popped in for brunch. So pleasantly surprised, hadn't been here since several years ago when it was the place to go for brunch. New owner, place looks amazing. And the MENU! To die for. They only serve till noon. Do not hesitate, great breakfast items and amazing things for a lunch. I had the BURGER from heaven. I am... More

Our room was small, and its location and the wooden floors throughout (our part of) the hotel meant that we were wakened early each morning by people (staff?) opening doors, dragging things around etc. Breakfast choice was broad, eclectic and enticing - and beautifully cooked and presented. However, two of the vaunted "3 courses" - some millimetre-thick slivers of chilled... More

The breakfast at the Edgewater Inn is absolutely amazing. Not sure how the cook pulls it off with many deluxe, delicious breakfasts from which to choose. We stayed in the inn's outbuilding which is comfortable, cute and clean.

My wife and I were looking for a quaint and peaceful inn to spend our one night in Kennebunkport. The Edgewater Inn delivered on all of our expectations... and that was before breakfast. The breakfast included in our package was spectacular! We drank fresh juices and french-press coffee while considering the many interesting options on the breakfast menu. After selecting... More

The inn is beautiful and classy. We brought our puppy and they treated us with such open arms. They went out of their way to make sure we were treated well as well as our pet. They even help provided pet sitting for one evening so my wife and I could go out for a romantic dinner. The room was... More

Stayed 3 nights at what they now call "on the edge". Their calling card is their 3 course breakfast, locals and others come in to sample their elaborate menu ( you can have lobster for breakfast if you want). You have fresh fruit as a first course, sweet and savory ´amuse-bouches' as seconds and a filling combo of the usyal... More

Stayed here for three nights with my family of three. The service was superb. We had barely parked when the owners son came out to greet us on the lawn and take our baggage while we checked in. Every morning while at breakfast our room was cleaned while we ate. The food is remarkable. The three of us tried something... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Edgewater Inn, formerly known as The Green Heron Inn one of Kennebunkport's historic Inns, is located on Ocean Avenue, in one of the town's most charming neighborhoods. It sits adjacent to an estuarine cove, near the mouth of the Kennebunk river and just around the bend from President George Bush's vacation home on Walkers Point. Overnight stays include a 3-course breakfast, prepared by Chef Jason Grant in the "on the edge" restaurant from eight to noon. The Inn was built in the early 1900's as a boarding house that provided shelter and breakfast for weary travelers. Twelve guest rooms including a cove side cottage, thirty-two seat restaurant. Its location, which combines the beautiful surrounding of the Kennebunk River and the convenience of its proximity to all major Kennebunkport attractions, contributed to its popularity from its early days. That tradition continues today. While relaxation at The Edgewater Inn is an art in itself, activities abound in the surrounding area. Guests enjoy rejuvenating walks along the rocky shore, enjoy the sun on the sandy beach, explore the numerous galleries and shops in Dock Square, watch the wildlife and the birds as they gather near the water next to the inn, or spend a sunny day on one of the nearby golf courses. ... more   less
