What a wonderful place. Breathtaking views, warm and hospitable staff and owners. Accommodations are rustic in the best way, and very clean and well maintained. Food is delicious, and having a picnic lunch prepared to order every day makes exploring the lake that much easier.

I've lived in Maine my whole life and wondering what took me so long to find Attean Lake Lodge. Stayed for the weekend with a group of 12 friends and had a fantastic time enjoying the spectacular setting, comfortable cabins, gracious service, and wonderful food. While the setting is remote by design, the setting is unbelievably idyllic & the service...

Our family of nine, from 78 to 9, enjoyed a wonderful week at Attean Lake Lodge this July. Each family had a cottage overlooking the lake. in the evening, we lit our gas lamps giving a soft glow to the handsome wood walls and ceiling. Meals were served in the very attractive main lodge, all excellent. Two evenings we had...

For a decade we used to go to Attean Lake Lodge every summer with our son. It is a great place to unwind and be in the midst of real nature. While it is a hike to get there -- long drive -- it is a pleasure once you arrive. It is great for families, couples -- anyone who really...

We just returned from a 3 night stay with our two boys and had a wonderful time. The location is spectacular on a breezy, bug free island in gorgeous Attean Lake. Aside from the Lodge the lake is completely protected. We saw moose, bald eagles, otters and fell asleep to the sound of loons. The food was delicious, the cabins...

Here on this little island in the middle of an uninhabited lake near the Canadian border, you feel as though you have been transported to Yeats's Lake Isle of Innisfree, where you hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore, and peace comes dropping slow. The quiet is profound. The only motor noise you hear is from the...

We brought our friends from Spain here, for a real Maine camp-like experience. The cabin is perfect. There is no electricity, so there are gas lamps in the cabins, and fireplaces for warmth. Don't come here expecting TVs, Internet, cell phones. This is a place to escape into the true beauty of Maine nature. They have thought of every comfort,...

We have stayed here twice, and we have already booked our vacation for next year. This resort is beautiful, the people are wonderful, the food delicious. You have your own private cabin with kerosene lamps, wood stove and modern bathroom. The lodge has electricity and wifi. It is so peaceful and quiet. The perfect get away. Fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming,...

I've been meaning to write a review on the Attean Lake Lodge for years. I'm planning on heading up to the Lodge in early September, this will be our eighth time there. I'm usually not a loss for words, but when it comes to the Attean, I have a hard time describing just how beautiful it is. The cabins are...

We have stayed at Attean Lodge for almost 20 years -- the hospitality is warm and family-like, the scenery is breathtaking, and for a group of cabins on an island, the place is surprisingly comfortable and homey. Think of gas lamps combined with complete running water -- which means all of the bathroom amenities modern and home-like. The lodge is...
