I stayed in the Cedar cabin for three nights. It is very well-maintained and I loved the screened-in porch with a sofa. It was a great nap spot. The bed was comfortable, too. You can walk over to John & Mary's porch to use their internet hotspot, but otherwise you are unplugged from the world.

Maine is a great state, full of lakes and streams, woods and wildlife, and lots of things to do in the outdoors. Our hosts were John and Mary Arcaro, who are friendly and welcoming. Also, John is a Registered Maine Guide, who can be booked ahead of time to take people fishing and hunting during the seasons. If you want...

My friend and I called last minute to spend some days hunting. They responded quickly and provided accommodations for our needs. We were welcomed into a clean and very comfortable cabin. The owners are the salt of the earth! You will love your time here.

I discovered Grand Lake Stream and Canal Side Cabins in 2008 and it has been a favorite destination several times a year since then. John and Mary are the consummate hosts and the cabins are rustic and cozy, while still offering every amenity necessary for a pleasant and relaxing stay (heat, shower, TV (which never gets turned on), gas stove...

If you are looking for a place to go where time and people have not ruined over the years, the list is limited. Our stay at Canal Side Cabins couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin we stayed in was clean, cozy and well equipped. Easy access to Grand Lake and the quaint town itself added to our vacation. And the owners, Mary and John, could not have been nicer. They made us feel so welcome and met any need we requested. John...
