Went to see if the place was suitable to take some friends but don't think we will risk it. We were the only people in the restaurant at 7pm on Thursday night. My husbands steak and whitebait were delicious but I had new potatoes with chicken. The chicken was the toughest I'd ever had and the potatoes tasted sweet. It...

Visited New Year's Eve at 1500 and they had stopped serving food as the chef was having the night off. No sign outside. Dogs are allowed which is great but there were some running a bit wild. Very dated inside, needs a refurb!

We were very impressed with the Carvery at the Barley Mow. There was a choice of roasts (Turkey, Pork, Gammon and Beef) served with plenty of fresh vegetables. Huge portions,so we had to share a pudding. Very friendly and efficient staff. All in all a really good lunch.

We were looking forward to our visit to the Barley Mow, as our last overnight stop at the end of a midweek break on the North Oxford Canal. The staff seemed friendly enough and the bar was busy, if not rather noisy, no doubt with regulars as well as some visitors. But the pub was very dog-friendly, which was great....

We visited The Barley Mow one evening for a meal when cruising the cut (canal). It was quite busy with people sitting inside and outside as it was a nice evening. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming. I said we would like a meal, but we had our dog with us so should we sit outside. We were...

I've moved to the area to live with my girlfriend and found my little haven. The owners Simon and Kelly are always extremely friendly and the staff are all first rate. They all seem to genuinely care about both the business and the customers and are never short of a willing and happy hello. I've been in the industry a...

Ate here on , as it turned out, a very busy Friday night. Luckily we'd turned up at 6, and were give a table straight away. 20 minutes later the place was heaving, and all the tables were full. The friendly staff were pretty efficient, beers ordered, menus handed out and food order taken in a short time. We'd both...

We were breaking our drive home from Snowdonia at a nearby Premier Inn and went out in Search of somewhere to eat. Fortunately we found The Barley Mow! What a pleasant surprise, the food was excellent and clearly the locals thought so too as it was very busy.If ever we pass through again we will most definitely eat there again!
