Spectacular beach; restaurants with great views; beach bar rivals best anywhere; attentive, dedicated, cheerful service from large ever-present staff; great room with strong a/c, free internet, great beds; fantastic spa; architecture throughout reflects origin of hotel as architect's personal residence; hard to describe all the good things. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

A short but decadent stay at Maroma Resort and Spa didn't disappoint. The resort itself sits on one of the best beaches in Mexico and the king size beach beds get an A+ for relaxation and romance. For me it wasn't the excellent and authentic Mexican cuisine, the 1000 candles that illuminate the resort every night or the lovely spa... More

It hasn't even been one week and I am ready to go back. Really. Maroma was a wonderful getaway for us. It is quiet, secluded, on a beautiful property, but it was the excellent customer service that really made our experience top-notch. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the smiling Maroma staff and tasty Maroma Margaritas. Katerina and... More

We loved the small boutique feel of this hotel. The staff are definately the stand out; they are exceptionally friendly, courteous and plentiful! It takes a few days to get used to the staff being everywhere and stopping whatever it is they are doing to greet you. You'll encounter no less than 10 staff walking from your room to breakfast.... This is our 2nd visit to Maroma Resort & Spa. We debated whether to try something new (i.e Mandarin Oriental, Tides), but in the end my wife and I decided that Maroma was just too perfect the first time for us to venture away to try a new resort. Let me say that we were very happy with our choice... More

I never write reviews but was just so disappointed with our stay at Maroma that i wanted to share it with others. We recently stayed at the Maroma Resort and having stayed at resorts around the world this was truely disappointing. We had 2 of the better rooms - a Master Ocean View Suite ($1500 USD approximate) and a Garden... More

Maroma is a dyed in the wool Old School Mexican resort. The Orient Express chain has managed to let the hotel keep all its funky charm. There is none of that tropical wool and brown stucco faux bali nonsense. Our bath was giant, made of talavera tile, the walls "popcorn" white stucco. Rooms are quite large. Floors have been upgraded... More

The best trip I have ever taken in my life. I have been to many exclusive resorts around the world and two weeks here was the best disconnect from real life ever. Service is impeccable, beach is gorgeous and food is to die for. It's expensive but worth every dime. The kinyan spa is amazing! My highest recommendation!

My family spent a week at the Maroma from December 13-20th. We had a fabulous week, filled with a level of detail and service that we have yet to experience. We have stayed at wonderful five star resorts in the past, and have historically chosen a resort that is slightly larger, in deference to our daughters (20 and 24 now).... More

Fantastic place. We loved it. Staff is incredible. Food is great. Rooms were great. Beach is beautiful. A very special place. Great diving and dive shop as well. Far and away the best staff we've ever encountered. We stayed for a week and loved it. Can't wait to go back.
