Great location but poorly maintained, and unilaterally failing to honor what was purported to be available. The Inn advertised breakfast was available through October 31, but when we arrived in mid-October the caretaker said there was no breakfast because it was off-season. After much discussion and showing him the website which said breakfast was available, he said to give him...

Our two night stay at the inn was pleasant and met our expectations. We planned lots of outdoor activities and did not want, or need rocking chairs on the porch, multiple sofas and big chairs for reading or other comforts. We required a safe, clean, comfortable room with a firm mattress and a working bathroom. Perfect match! Max, the innkeeper...

I rented a room here for 1 night. That was too much, too expensive and no one to welcome us.We had to be there between 3 and 5. It's not that easy when you are travelling to be there at a precise time. The key was left in the mail box. The owner of the inn doesn't live there, so...

Like another traveler, I agreed to stay at this establishment based on a website with very nice pictures. I walked into the inn and had a bad feeling that I was going to be disappointed. I was. The room was hot and when I went to turn on the AC, there was a good 4" gap between the AC and...

First of all the high spots. We had great pancakes custom made for us both mornings of our stay and the service by Brenda was very attentive. We ate on the veranda and the weather was perfect. Now the not so great parts. We rented based on a well done website showing a fully functional restaurant and bar. Neither of...

We LOVED this place last year and in early June of this year, that is until half the staff quit, including the chef. They're trying to act like nothing happened, but the magic Thistle Inn burger is a thing of the past, and the replacement is not even appetizing. Happy hour is still a great deal from 5 -6, but...

The room was dark and small. The carpet in the room stained. Unlike other B&Bs they do not tell you about places to visit in the area. The housekeeper, Brenda, was extremely rude and loud. I have dietary restrictions and she was not ready to present any options. I ended up eating one toasted bread for breakfast (without any jelly...

We stayed at the Inn 2 weeks ago for 2 evenings. It was an old inn with 6 rooms attached to a fabulous restaurant (probably the best in Boothbay Harbor). The Inn itself was nice, but could use some attention. The pros: 1. Charming old house 2. Clean rooms 3. Good size room - each with a Pvt. Bath 4....

Stayed here two nights and wish it was longer. The best words to describe the Thistle Inn are "charm" and "character". Just 6 guest rooms. We were in the Sherman Zwicker room on the second floor - roomy, with a very comfortable 4 poster bed, broad plank hardwood floor, large bathroom with a dressing area. Old fashion comfort! (Beware, a...

This older home could use a face lift (staircases could use fresh carpeting...) Still, room itself was clean, spacious and air conditioned, bathroom was clean and private. It is convenient location 3 blocks from center of this terrific tourist town. Breakfast was tasty, served at our private table atop white tablecloths. Each morning there was a choice of 2 entrees....
